If you trash your liver through drinking you'll go a funny yellow colour, then you'll die as alcohol is a poison and your liver deals with it.

You have to drink an awful lot to do any lasting damage though.

You would only know your liver was not working properly with a set of blood tests. No one I know drinks more Vodka and zero coke than me and my tests came back perfect, much to my astonishment. I supose I drink about 2 bottles a week? A couple a night - sometimes more - sometimes less.

Malcom C,
If your young, your body can take care of most anything like this. Your liver and drinking is age related. When you get older your liver will let you down, so it would probably be a good thing to start controling your intake. Remember to much of anything is not good for you.

Alcoholic liver disease. As many as ten percent of all American men and three percent of all American women may have health problems related to alcohol abuse. Alcohol affects many of your body's organs, but one of the most commonly affected is the liver. Alcohol abuse can lead to three main types of liver problems: fatty liver (steatosis), hepatitis, and cirrhosis. Fatty liver involves the accumulation of fat within the liver cells. Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver. Alcoholic hepatitis can include severe liver dysfunction with complications. Cirrhosis involves a widespread presence of nodules in the liver that leave nonfunctioning scar tissue. Cirrhosis can lead to end-stage liver disease. A blood test is your best alternative. For a self exam, look at the whites of your eyes, your skin and your nails, a yellowish color means your liver is not functioning properly.

Have a liver profile done. If the liver enzymes are elevated, you better cut down on the vodka or you'll get hepatitis and eventually cirrhosis.

Go to your doctor and get an order for bloodwork for liver testing. Then go to the lab and get tested and they will fax the results to your doctor.

You are probably fine; I take tons and tons of pain reliever for headaches. Way more than I should. And I've had my liver tested many times and my body is actual in perfect condition.

Are your finger nails and the whites of your eyes turning yellow? Do you look a bit off colour? First signs of liver disorder. Or, if you're not sure, pop to your doc for an LFT (liver function test) which will tell you more accurately.

i think you would have pain or a dull ache in your back around the vicinity of your liver, the way to combat this is to drink gallons of water during the day and take a pint of water to bed with u at night and if you wake up during the night keep drinking the water
