The first problem is that they could only see straight ahead (a bit like tunnel vision) and the second is that they cant see straight ahead due to another disease!. Does anyone know what these diseases are. They are registered blind, and will never be able to see. I dont want to be insensitive in asking this person outright.

those born blind usually have irreversible causes such as anopthalmia
secondary causes are numerous and many can be reversible

opthamologist probably would--dont want to be insensetive by asking outright but willing to go behind their back ? interesting?
