No, never had to take a drug test. But, I know there are over the counter and prescribed drugs that can make you test positive. That is why when you go for a test, you tell them, in writing, what you are on. Also, something as simple as a muffin loaded with poppy seeds has been known to do a weird thing with tests.

I know there are medications out there that will show up on a drug test as something else.. I'm not what they're called tho. My friends dad had the same thing happen to him.. He was applying for a new job and didn't get it because his medications showed up on his drug test as something else. I know he takes alot of medications for his heart, but definately doesn't do drugs.

Certain prescription and over the counter drugs can cause false positives for some drugs. If you gave the tester a record of drugs you've taken recently and your prescriptions, they'll factor these into the results.

false positives happen all of the time. It can be a combination of foods, OTC meds which have an offset potentiation factor, or a simple lab mistake....THIS JUST happened to a very close friend of mine..TWICE in a row. She stuck with it. Se was in the right..and was undaunted..they had mixed up her test with someone Else's.....it was on account of custody so as apparent she was NOT going to allow this to be beating her up emotionally and taking it on the chin. It DOES happen
I failed a lie detector test once...not having done anything, it is just that I was so nervous!
But, here I am not the issue....I simply wanted to show that the truest and best equipment or office or lab workers CAN make mistakes or have tainted lab tubes. Stick with it. YES In answer to your query, it can, does and will happen...If this has happened to you. My recommendation is to insist to have it done ASAP again! My friend did and ended up with her daughter within two days. Life is like this take nothing for granted, mistake are made..and you are so worth it!

It could be something you ate. Also, if someone is on Xanax or any type of prescription medication that may look like illegal drug use but isn't, let the person testing you know about it. Bring your prescription with you.

I haven't personally. But I have heard that certain over the counter medications can cause a false positive. Hope that helps.

no but a friend of mine tested positive for opiates while he was on probation I don't know exactly what drugs would show up as opiates but he hadn't done any and I know him well enough to know this, I guess he and his girlfriend had gotten some muffins with a lot of poppy seeds on them and that was enough to do the trick

Poppy seeds give people a false positive indicating opiates. Also being in close proximity of someone smoking marijuana.

Good luck my friend
