I have had a pretty eventful day, I broke up with my boyfriend. Ditched a party, then decided to watch some tv. I cried, after i broke up with him, then watched two tv shows, cried over those too. Was pretty down. So I decided, since i want to be a doctor, to look up some medical stuff. I was curious at the cancer thing, since my uncle (dad's oldest brother) died from it, and my aunt (dad's youngest sister) has one year left due to it. I passed a certain type of cancer, and all five symptoms i contain. What is freakier is the fact that my dad had to get a lump removed, because the doctors said it is very possibly cancerous, I have a lump very similar, but never worried about it. I can't ask to get it tested, since there's a certain waiting period on the medical aid. Also once the waiting period is over my dad needs to get his hip replaced. I don't know what to do. What is your opinion?

I was coming to add more details, and well johnny p, go jump in a lake. I only suspect cancer, I have had tests on aids, and I'm negative. Looked up the other two, don't have it/suspect it. Now, I also have two other symptoms of cancer in general. They were not included on the list of this specific cancer symptom list.

okay, I am confused as to why you and your father couldn't go to the doctor at the same time? How old are you? Are you sure you have these symptoms, or is it in your head? If you really believe that you have these symptoms, you need to be seen asap. They might just be fatty tumors. I have them on my leg, and the doctor told me that as long as they don't bother me, I don't bother them. You should have it checked out, and if need be go to the ER or an urgent care, do you have a free clinic you couold visit? Good luck, and I hope everything turns out alright for ya!

Tell your parents what you are concerned about. If they do not listen to you than see your school nurse or a trusted adult and tell them.

You need to be evaluated by a doctor. Lumps and bumps should never be ignored (this is something you should know if you plan to be a doctor).

My 17 year old son has a very aggressive sarcoma that is capable of spredding within the body and doubling in size in just a few months. He's been fighting his cancer for 19 months. I wish now that I had taken him seriously when he complained about feeling a lump in his stomach.

Don't wait. Your life may depend upon it.

i know how you feel. i had a lump but i had it biopsed. now i have a metal chip in me that marks the spot . its a tumor . cancer has taken my family members here too. docotrs watch me close now .. i'll have that tumor removed here this winter because cells freak out and change their course so while im safe now there is no guarentee here my cells wont turn radical and change into cancer. your lump is serious keep feeling it for any change in size or shape. if it changes at all you better make a fast move to a doctor while you wait for that medical ail to kick in dont fool around with that ..

Most lumps are not cancerous. Some, like your Dad's are what they call pre cancerous, meaning they could at some time in the future develop into a cancer. The serious lump is Melanoma...which is irregular, lumpy, blue/black in color.
Try Webmd or a dermatology site on the web. Look for pics to compare to.

What you need is a professional diagnosis and nobody is more than qualified than a good doctor. It will be to your disadvantage in all aspects if you keep on guessing. You will gain more and lost nothing if you visit your doctor for your peace of mind. Good luck!

SEE A DOCTOR. Discuss your fears/suspicions with him. Get a definite answer. Could be nothing. Could be something. You need to know for sure.
Best wishes.
