THC (Tetrahydrocanabinol, or something like that) which is the active ingredient in the so called 'weed', lingers several days or even weeks in your system, if you are a beginner or a casual user However if you have been a more 'systematic' user it is said it lingers for months in your system, and can be easily traced, even if you have not smoked any recently.
