I guess the header sums it up there. My husband insists that this is not normal, but I say it is. It's been that color for a long time, this is nothing new...it's just that my husband rarely changes a diaper and just noticed it last night. He's worried, but I don't think there is anything to worry about. What do you think?

If my penis went blue/purple I would s**t myself and run to the hospital. I don't care what age you are that is NOT normal

If it's been there a long time, you could both be right. Maybe it's a mongolian birth mark, which is normal for some people, but not for others. East Asians, dark skinned people and mixed race get them on different parts of there body. I have seen a "mottled' penis before. My boys who are half east asian are "mottled" but there birth marks are on there back and bum.

I would schedule a routine checkup and ask about it just for the peace of mind , it may be fine or a sign of a circulatory problem , best listen to a doctors advice though.

Anytime skin goes blue or purple, there's a large chance the area is being starved for oxygen and blood circulation. I definitely suggest you have it seen by a doctor.

If it's been that way for a long time, as you say, then surely your son's pediatrician has seen it. What did the Doctor tell you?

I would call my doctor if you really want to put the issue to rest! He/she would be the best senario for an accurate answer. Lord knows what you'll get here!

Doesn't sound very good...I've babysat baby boys before, and they've always been skin colored right down to the end.
