That isn't jogging it's just running on the spot, so no.
You're better getting a skipping rope or using a piece or rope or washing line you have lying around if you are going to be staying on the spot like that.
But like the others said, as long as you are moving you will be burning off something.
You're better doing high kicks. Do each leg and then kick out to the side. Do some jumps in the air, touch the ground and go back up again.
All that can really make you sweat. I was taught that by a personal trainer when I didn't have enough room to exercise and no equip and it worked great. I did other things like punching the air. Punching up, to the side etc etc. Basically just use all the diff muscles you can think of but do them fast and repeatedly and that is a cardio workout as well as getting your muscles.
Jogging on the spot isn't hard. You need to move A LOT more than that for it to work your heart. Try jumping about in the space you've got and see what sort of movements get you out of breath. You can just do a freestyle type whacky dance in your room if you have the space/privacy.
If you're sweating/out of breath and how much, that should give you an idea of how well it's working or if it's basically a waste of time.

It sounds like you live in a cold environment. I'm not sure but I think this makes sense: as long as you are jogging for the same amount of time you would outside or in the gym, it will add up to be close to equivalent. You have to be careful though because if you aren't moving anywhere, mentally you don't need to work as hard because your mind has no set destination. You will notice that unless you are very focused you will slow down, or your jog wont be very efficient (slumped, not working as hard.) If you stay focused, it should be pretty close to jogging outside. Even if you are actually jogging and moving inside your house, your body wont be working as hard. Jogging outside right now, comes with the added factor of the temperature. It sounds like you are going through cold weather, so your body will be working harder to not just jog, but to keep you warm at the same time.
My advice is to just jog in place, and consider investing in a treadmill. Hope this helped =]

jogging on the spot works different muscles (not as many) and also not as well. when running outside you are using your arms more and the pressure goes right through your whole body, also you have wind resistance to contend with, hills etc. your better off doing step downs on a set of stairs or just actual stretches, stretching your muscles can actually tone them. if its snowing too much to run, why not take up skiing haha. by the way, a bicycle is the best form of fitness.

Whats wrong with running in the snow?
You'll exert more energy doing it AND its in the cold.... which always helps.
Gyms are for the weak.... Force your way through the snow on a regular basis .... It can't hurt (at least not in the long-term). Get your **** out there!

Based on the fact that jogging is a "high-impact" exercise that places strain on the body, notably the joints of the knee, what you are doing is equivalent to jogging outside.♥

Jogging inside when you can not jog outside should be helpful. I have seen tapes on inside jogging in place!

Yes that helps when weather conditions are against you because when you exercise outside you also get the benefits of breathing fresh air .

Yes definitely it is sufficient. One thing u need to make sure is that u sweat. uNless u sweat, there is no point in u doing any exercise because people sit at home switch on the AC and do exercise which is of no use.Hence ensure this alone.
