i am going up to newcastle to watch a football game in december and need a decent place to stay. Its a wednesday night and unfortunalty the flight back to london is at 650 in the morning so a hotel close to thsi and decent nightlife would be great...preferbyl 3*

The Jury's Inn in Newcastle is close to the town centre - you'll probably have to get a taxi to the aiport in the morning, I can't remember what time the Metro's start running.
There's also a Travellodge on the Quayside - it's not especially close to the Metro but the riverside can be quite lively.
Say hello to my mam for me - haven't been home for ages.

Stay at the Holiday Inn Express, a 10 minute walk from St James Park, and 15 minutes walk from the Riverside.

The Copthorne on the Quayside is nice and close to nightlife, or you could try the Central Hotel which is a stones throw from the trainstation and metro.
