walk away, ignore him, don't respond to him for a few weeks.
Then talk to him. By this time you should have had time to think clearly about the situation

tell him he's got to give you a break because you don't love him. It will hurt him a lot but it is better than being in an untrue strained relationship. You need to cut him loose so that he can have the opportunity to find someone who will love him as much as he will love her. Cruel to be kind. Tough but true.

You have to do whats best for you. If you dont love him, why be with him. Theres no point in trying to make something work when your heart isnt there.
Just tell him that your sorry but the feelings he has for you isnt what you feel for him. Dont be living a lie, just plain out tell him.

If you dont love him your just hurting yourself. Why stay in something that you know your not going to be happy in. Just tell him strait up that it is over and be done and move on.
