An elongated and seemingly perpetual feeling of ones persona to be mired in the lack lustre world of a depressive mode...wherein you are incapable of everyday things such as the simplest things even the desire to get into the however, eating, or human contact...it is different for everyone, and can be solved on account of loss or the desire of something seemingly out of reach or the despairing of dreams unrecognized. It is not a forever thing. it is to be in a perpetual state of melancholy or sadness ..making the days go by each one seeming like an eternity......it is however treatable, by social reintegration and stepping outside of yourself and 'giving' to someone or may eith less than yo have..we are all blessed with gifts...no I am not going all religious here....melancholy can be replaced by joy, in increments...May require counseling...take the help if need be...if it is for you,...if not and just a general question...then here is my answer and I stand by my answer. though somehow Instinctively i thread this to you....why? you asked the question and this...is my reply...all for now...Thank You....for the reality check.....never hurts for another one. YOU just made a difference, how does it feel? I would assume good. I shall be checking back to put int place your choice on answers as this question throws up a red flag and I cannot help but be concerned by it.i wish yo the very best. Be Well ~

It's a Greek word meaning a state of sympathy mixed with grief.
The person is quite sad and feels nothing could be his anymore.
He feels related to nothing and has a feeling none is taking care of him. He's reluctant to taking initiatives about anything and he'd rather have someone comforting him.-
