Do you think that people in general are becoming meaner to each other? People no longer do the basics like hold the door open for each other, say please and thank you, or even excuse me. Do you think that this is societie's excuse for out life being in the fast lane or do you think that people have just gotten an "I don't care attitude" about everything or everyone around them? What happened to basic decency and politeness?

This is a very good question. For years I've been wondering what has happened to our humanity. I think because our world has become such a money driven economy, that everyone is competing with one another. We don't help each other out anymore, people will drive right past you when your car is broken down, and if there is a physical altercation, we just stand and stare rather than helping. It's disgusting really. People are wanting more and more material things now, and these items are becoming available. Now what seems to be important is how much money you have, or how nice your car is, or how big of a TV you have. It's unfortunate. I was locked out of my car a couple years ago, at the mall. I did not have my phone with me: it was in my car. It was also pouring down rain, and I had my two young kids with me. A dozen people with cell phones past me, and all refused to let me use their phone to call my husband, before someone finally helped me. Some of these people even had kids with them. Society has become greedy, and money driven.

I hate to say that I tend to agree with you.

I was brought up with the ideal that if you treat people right, then that is how you will be treated. Sadly this is not the case.

So instead I decided that I will be the best I can be, and when people are so inconsiderate not to notice my existance, than i just smile at the fact that karma will make a bus run over them one day soon - and all because they couldn't be bothered to say hello/thankyou/goodbye.

So the next time you see a MVA, just remember that is what happens when you are rude - karma works in very mysterious ways

I think people have become so used to being rude that they not only forgot what basic decency and politeness are all about but also have become so insensitive to how others feel. I just wonder how they'd react if others are rude or mean to them. Would they be sensitive to how they are treated? If yes, then they SHOULD be more sensitive to how they treat others, right?

Unfortunately that is the price we must pay to live on the modern society. Everybody is in a hurry and don't have any time to expend with good manner.
Probably it should be a clear sign of the end of our age, and the solution should be reach only by the people all over the word.

Nah, we just don' have the time to be polite. The world's getting faster and faster.

People are not worse. It's always fun to discover it when you read a very detailed history book. People are just as bas as always.

I dont think people are being bad intentionally ..
lives are more busy now ... people wnt to get their work done .. i dont think people think much about how they react towards others ...
but the problem is that they dont think about it ... if only they knew how easier their life would be if they know how to treat others right ....because that would help them get wut they want done .... it will get others involved in getting most of what they worry about done
