It depends on what you mean by 'fattening'. Ribena contains next to zero actual fat in it - it's nearly entirely simple carbohydrates (sugars).
However, it is VERY calorie intensive, and drinking too much of it (and not excercising enough) will make you fat - and probably give you diabetes.

There's no fat in it but there's more sugar in a 200ml carton of Ribena (the ordinary non-toothkinid one) than there is in a 330ml can of Coke and we all know the bad publicity that Coke gets!! I'm a teacher and we did an interesting experiment on this with the kids to help them see the difference... i think it worked out at 12 lumps of sugar for the Coke and 13 lumps for the little carton of Ribena. The toothkind one has very little sugar though, but if you don't agree with using chemical sweeteners steer clear of that too!

The Normal Ribena is OK but the 'Toothkind' contains Aspartame.
Although it is 'no calorie' sweetener, it breaks down to formaldehyde and other stuff, the formaldehyde attaches to fat cells and your body can't burn it off. It also makes you feel hungry so crave food and that is when you turn into a tub of lard!

It's not fattening, but you shouldn't drink too much of it as it contains lots of sugar

It has no fat but is high in sugars, go for the sugar free options.

Yes if you mix it with cooking oil instead of water.
