If you want to get real experience you could think about working a season as a chalet host/chef. Most companies will send you on a taylor made course to up your skills, you'll learn loads of new recipies, plus meet loads of cool people.

U could open ure self a restaurant... or even a little cafe, or if u want u could do some catering from home... all u need is 2 do some research in 2 ure ara, have a look round at how many restaurants and cafes there are and see what they offer, if they offer something u want 2 offer then the oppurtunity is gone but if your idea is different then go 4 it... i mean u can get a lot of help from the goverment in grants and there are ofganisations that help you start a business.

Well i think it's always good to start catering for friends parties and barbeques etc. I love to cook too and as yet I haven't done any formal training but I do cater for parties and barbeques during the summer, which I love. You can start out just charging for the raw materials and then when you begin to build a reputation you can begin introducing a basic charge for your services. This all began with a friend (who's a chef) asking me to help her prepare for a barbeque she was catering and then asking me to stay on and waitress. Don't be afraid to offer your services for very little at the start.... word of mouth is what will get your business going! And if you love food, what you produce is guaranteed to get good publicity!! Good luck with it.... Enjoy!!!

Catering from home.
Prepare all the food in your house and do the final cooking in the hosts house.
Send a leaflet to all expensive houses or do a street walk around the posh housing estates.
Of course it depends where you live. This would work fine in a city but not many rural areas would pay for this, except down south.

There are food schools.
In Malta, there is the ITS. it accepts forign students too.
if you look online for cooking schools, you will be able to find a lot of them.
if you want to join in the ITS, you have to be over 17 and i think you need to have some exams such as O levels or GCSEs....
