They ask us about steaks, meat pies, pasties, chickens, turkey, roadkill ,game (it's true) vermin, squirrell meat, fish and seafood etc.We don't keep appearing here and asking about how to cook quorn/tofu/tofurkey and why you lot eat meat. Live and let live I don't mind if you choose to eat meat and I won't be trying to convert anyone in general food. So why on God's Earth do these people continually taunt us?!?!?!

So many abuse reports to do...so little time!!
Madonna. As I stated above. People can ask these questions in General food, ask away in the General Food section , where they belong. I'm OBJECTING to them being asked in the VEGETARIAN and VEGAN section - ok?!

Please ask that in our forum!! You will get an interesting range of answers!!

Merlin that is very hateful. A lot of people don't know I'm a veggie . I don't bandy it around or wear a T-shirt saying 'How Virtuous am I'? I'm 100 % vegetarian !!!

good grief, i've never read such venom as in these answers. I'm guessing that eating meat de-sensitises people to cruelty.

I don't know why so many meat-eaters go into the V&V section of Yahoo answers to criticise veggies and vegans or ask questions about meat. Is seems such a simple concept that if you don't like something you stay away. I'm having difficulty trying to work out why they don't know this.

Its quite ridiculous that they go into the V&V section to complain about preachng !
Is it really beyond comprehension how stupid that is ?

I've been a veggie for 26 years and never preached to others, I don't care what they eat, I just want to follow my moral beliefs. Why do peple have to go and spilt and spite at me ?

I guess the lack of veggies answering your questions does go to show that veggies keep themselves to themselves, they are all inthe V&V section answering questions, no going around attacking others. So much for the belief that we all preach.

I guess they just want to poke fun at something they don't understand. However they jsut see Veggie as being a querky trendy lifestyle. Whereas for some of us its a serious moral choice. Crticising my veggie belief is just a bad as criticising someone deeply held religious beliefs, in my opinion.

Right, i'm off the to Horoscopes section to tell them all to stop thier nonsence......I can sense thier questions from here, its so annoying, how dare they ?

Y'know, you're right. It would be awfully easy for some PETA-brainwashed type to sit around asking "How can you eat innocent cows, knowing the suffering blah blah blah," etc, but I haven't seen it -- while I have seen _loads_ of trolls in 'Vegetarian & Vegan.'

Still. I've seen an awful lot of stupid v/vs there, who have to take a bit of the blame given the trouble they must cause in the population at large. There's Mr "Meat is so awful! Don't you feel better because you don't eat it? My friends make fun of me but I know I'm right..." Yes, well, your friends make fun of you because you can't shut up about it. And Mrs "I call myself a vegetarian but I still eat fish and sometimes chicken," who I didn't know existed before Yahoo! Answers. Screwing up restaurant menus and staff everywhere; thanks!

But, _why_ do they taunt? I think because it's so easy. No matter how many "Go ahead and shoot the chicken, I don't care" replies "Would you eat a chicken if I was going to shoot another one if you didn't eat the first?" (which may not be so much a taunt as curiousity, that one, granted), there's always a couple of people answering "Why would you shoot a harmless chicken? How awful blah blah blah."

What weirds _me_ out is all the people crying "But you're SUPPOSED to eat meat. Check out your teeth, etc." It's hard to phrase this without sounding like I'm criticising omnivores -- I'm not -- but, pointing out that we retain a primitive or unnecessary trait is a poor rationale for doing it. It seems in line with saying "Why don't girls start having babies as soon as they start menstruating?"

Hiya! I see you've also gotten tired of the garbage in the veggie section also. Maybe we need to get the radical vegan morons like the foxhunter troll to show up in the other sections to get the point across! Have you asked Yahoo for a moderator in there yet?

The simple answer is that a sizable part of the garbage in there comes from one or two of the radical vermin vegans that the meateaters in this area are complaining about! Not *all* of it but at least 60% has left tracks that trace back to the same part of the globe. (why do I feel another complaint report heading my way)

We can live on both or either, and people are wrong to assume that they are meat eaters.
For instance, -the lion goes for the throat first(she has to for the kill)
then she goes straight for the stomache as thats where she gets the vegetables.Their main source of prey are vegetarians, and they eat lots of grass, it is good for them so they eat the contents of the stomache first then they start on the meat.
A total meateater would die if they relied on meat only a day.
I eat both myself, but i certainly do not criticise the vegetarian.
Just keep on going the way you feel comfortanle with and shrug the rest, and the next time you have a confrontation about this--tell them the truth about the lions appetite for the veggies.
good luck.

They think they have a point to prove. Its like the God Squad continually post in the Geology and Earth Science section things like "Isn't it true that God created the Earth in six days and ate a steak and roadkill pie on the seventh?" or some equally bizarre and unlikely scenario. It is because there are people on this site who are narrow-minded, ignorant and cannot accept that there are others who do not share their point of view.

Let and let live sister! Enjoy your meals, your lifestyle and don't let these knob-heads bring you down.

I dont mind other people eating meat, but I get fed up with having people say that I dont know what I'm missing and asking if I want to try meat. I dont try and force tofu or quorn on anyone who isn't willing, so why keep offering me meat!!!

I know a lot of vegitarians who are fat actually. I do find that quite funny. Especially one who would get quite annoyed at the fact she put weight on, whilst we lost it eating pie, chips & gravy.

Silly graduate didnt realise it was the 3 ice cream scoops of mayonnase that made her put it on. Have you seen how many calories are in Mayo? 700 per 100g!

My mrs isnt a veggie but she eats veggie pizza. As you say, live and let live - if you want to eat veg then so be it - you can always have my portion, as long as u give me your meat :D

Because - just go to the mirror - open your mouth wide - and take a good look inside. Do you see different kinds of teeth, Of course you do, Do you know why they are different. God gave them to you. Some are to eat meat and some are to eat vegetables. What a concept. Being a vegetarian makes it hard to get a proper diet and then you are likely to try and pass your belief to others and even your children. As god intended meat as part of a human diet, you may be depriving your child of proper nutrient if you restrict his/her diet. So we try to keep you aware. Hope this helps and if your personal belief is no meat - when it comes to others - including your current and future family - keep it to yourself and no one can make fun of it. This site is open forum and a vegetarian site may be a little more in line for this discussion. I would advise that you just LOL at all of us fools and read on. We do want and need your views here.

Simply because vegetarians and vegans take themselves very seriously and it is a temptation to tease or provoke them with stupid questions. Many people think it is an affectation they adopt to make themselves interesting or different.
We have two vegetarians and a vegan in the family, one being a grand daughter who loves animals. We are not, but we accept their point of view though it makes the organisation of mealtime jolly difficult.

Sad lot. I'm a meat eater-but I would never push my meat eating views on a vegetarian or vegan. Just like I wouldn't like them to push their vegetarianism/veganism on me.
