There is a difference between being an organ donor and donating your body for research. In the latter case, your body can be used for practice by medical students.
I wanted to donate my body but discovered that medical schools are kind of picky - they will not accept your donation if you live too far away from them or if you are obese.
So, since I fail on both counts, I will be just an organ donor - if there are any parts still working when I pass away!

I've registered as an organ donor. My mom told me years ago she wants any working organs of hers to be used, and I promised her I'd do that. I'm glad my state passed a law so the donor themselves can decide, it's not up to the next-of-kin.

I will donate parts of it. Anything inside of me such as eyes, internal skin , heart, liver, etc that they can use for someone else they may have. Why take it with me when it can be of use to someone else?
