Druze?
:)
They are in Lebanon/Syria and there's nothing Muslim about them. They worship one of the Imams of the Shiites.

The only difference between Muslims is by our school of thought (we call them "mathhabs", pron. 'muth-hubz') and it boils down to our method of praying. There are only 4 schools of thought/mathhabs (shafi, hanafi, hanbali and maliki) that all Muslims can choose to follow but the selection is usually by region. The unfortunate thing about the shi'ite and sunni classification is that it emerged out of the politics after the death of the Prophet(p.b.u.h.): those Muslims who believed that the Prophets favourite cousin, Hussein, should have ascended as successor because of his closeness to the Prophet(shi'ite) and those Muslims who simply believed in the Sunnah(habits) and the teachings of the Prophet(Qur'aan), these being the sunnis. Otherwise, every Muslim should be the same. I may have to read up on more classifications. Unfortunately, i dont recognise "dewit" or "dwert" but if i do find a similar i'll be sure to contact you.

Is it Alevites?
The Alevites were born from the fusion of Christian, Gnostic and Shiite elements. The human is the first visible form of God for the Alevites. As a result, they support the right to self determination of all people - including women, because in Alevism men and women have equal rights. Alevite women do not wear the veil and actively take part in religious celebrations which, besides the traditional Saz, incorporate the ritual dance Semah. The Alevites reject the Sharia (Islamic law) because they regard the Koran as not a book of law but notes of revelations, which must be read critically. Therefore they are fighting not to be termed Muslim in order to differentiate themselves from the Sunni.

The Druze are typically found in Israel and form a community in their own right. They are animist in belief.

We do have many sects. It does not mean that we are totally different. We all worship God/Allah, we love our Prophet Mohammed (pbuh)...the rest is the way of life. There are some differences, minor ones. Do not believe that some of us worship Imams, the Imam is like a priest, he is a human being, how can we worship a human??

i believe what you're speaking about is actually the break down of the two largest groups of Islam..... there are different kinds of Sunnis and different kinds of Shiias. This is something i'm looking into now. feel free to email me if you want some more info on it.

There's dozens of Muslim sects. It shows that Islam is not as perfect and unified as the people who try to sell it are claiming. Look at Iraq and Iran. They've been killing each other for centuries before USA became a country...all over differences in Islam.
