How long did you take this drug?

Anyway you have to taper off very slowly. Stay on 5mg for 3 months. You may feel dizziness, shock like sensations and a lot of other problems after you stop the drug, but the problems disappears in 3 to 12 weeks.

I have taken this drug (20mg) for more than 6 years and could stop it successfully.

Did your doctor tell you to stop it?

10mg is a very low dose. People usually take from 40mg to 60mg a day for a long term.

Shawn. A doctor usually takes you off Prozac slowly over two or three weeks. Please do not take less or quit taking this drug without discussing it with your doctor. They gave you this medication for a condition that does not correct itself and is lifelong. Brain chemical imbalance is not a bad thing, but no matter what anyone tells you, it does not just go away when you feel better. The reason you feel better is the pills. If the pills make you feel bad or zoned out then the doctor can lower the amount or change you to another medicine.

10 mg of Prozac is nothing. Ask your doc and let her/him help you if you really want to get off, but why? I started to have a flu like syndrome with Prozac and that is why I quit taking it. My voice was hoarse and I was coughin and I think it was the Prozac, but there are a lot of other mood drugs out there. Good luck.

You should only stop taking this medication with the advise from your doctor. They tell you how to do it and what route to take. Dont just do it for yourself.
