i would have to say a stunt gun...but u kno the real thing is the best

stun gun has a better range, if someone is say 20 or 30 feet away and you know they are gonna attack you, with pep spray you wont hit them. stun gun u can hit from a range and put them down surely, they can still fight back from pepper spray if u havent hit them in the eyes with it

Neither. I just read a report that stun guns are worthless. Tasers are ok, but you would have to shock someone three or four times to get them to submit.
Pepper spray can have a blowback effect due to wind, and then if a bad guy has built up a resistence your still in trouble.

Tazers work almost 99% of the time. Some people are not affected by pepper spray, and even those that are can keep fighting even after spraying.

Taser's are great if both barbs hit the target, if both barbs are close enough to arch to the skin. Pepper spray works well if it's not windy, if your not in a enclosed area, if the person isn't nuckin' futz.... they both have a place and work well within the designed parameters .... try the layered approach ...side arm, pocket knife, pepper spray and a taser .... it gives you a greater bag of tools to use .... train well ...never under estimate the idiot your squaring off with.

I have been sprayed and tazzed for my profession in orded to understand the effects of these weapons.I currently carry a tazzer for my work and nothing stops them better than a tazzer.they are rather costly and very effective.When you tazz someone you better be ready for some liability because it has been studied and can actually kill.On the other hand I personally have tazzed a drunk 280lb man and it dropped him right now.Once someone has been tazzed it is common practice for us to take them for evaluation to limit or liability factor.Tazzers are becoming controversial so if you want one get it now.Scuttle but says that we might be getting ours taken away from us just because of latest deaths attributed to tazzers.

DEF A TAZER! Ive seen people keep going after getting sprayed and to add to it they aren't very happy and it just makes the problem worse. with a tazer they drop like a rock and will stay down without much after affect just what you need to get someone into cuffs with out cross contamination with yourself or other officers tazers all the way.
