Fold the paper in thirds with the printing inside and the letterhead portion on top so that when it is opened that is the first thing the recipient sees and place in a #10 (business) envelope. If a #10 envelope is not available and you must use a smaller one, then fold the paper in half (top to bottom) then fold in thirds and place in the envelope with the folded edge at the top. Makes it easier to remove from the envelope and less chance of a paper cut when removing it.

It should be folded in thirds with the letterhead folded so that when it is taken out of the envelope and it is unfolded and the letterhead is the first thing seen. By doing this no one can read through the envelope to see what is inside.

The letterhead should be on top and it should face the reader as they open the envelope.

Usually the letter will have the senders name and address. When you fold it this is the part that should be visible. When you place it in the envelope, this side should be facing the flap.
