Islam -Why are there killings in the name of Allah?

Why does a religion that preaches stuff like good deeds, faith, charity for the poor...condone killing others for not believing or going against their faith (jihad)? They remind me of the Catholics who killed many true christians and muslims in their so called holy crusades. Who are we to judge and kill some one

The sticking point is the Koran. Muslims believe that it IS the word of God and Mohammed just wrote the stuff down for him.

So when a book with 1500 year old philosophies is taken literally in a modern day scenario it seems to us a little strange. The world was bad back then. Christians, like you said have perpetrated as many, if not many more evil deeds in the name of God.

Don't forget though that the Koran is followed in a similar manner to the Bible. Some Muslimes pray 5 times a day and live their lives by it, but some go to the Mosque for births, marriages and deaths - like many Christians.

Islam is not a violent faith, but there is a group within who use the word of God to perpetrate evil acts.

Every Muslims is told to preach Islam as it is the religion of progress and the light for the whole world. But Muslims are told only to preach Islam, not to convert people. The matters of the heart is God's work, Muslims can only show non-Muslims the light, but it is up to non-Muslims to follow it or not. That is why the Quran says "there is no compulsory in religion".

And Muslims are not driven to kill and murder not because of God. They are opressed, sidelined, persecuted, and feel the injustices in the world. To make their effort more acceptable, they say that it is for God.

What right mind can say that the world is just, when Africans are thin and dying, while the world goes fat and partying?

And what right mind can say that to end innocent lives is what God told them to do?

Quran states: "he who kills a person intentionally, will burn in blazing fire". End. This allows no argument. This is what they R doing, killing those who have not harmed them. Who gave them this right?
If they say, God told us to kill infidels; God was NOT speaking to them. God did not order Mohammed (pbuh)to fight until infidels plotted to kill him, then gathered an army to wipe out all Muslims. That order to Mohammed is the "Jihad". Do U think God would let them wipe out Islam when it just started? Whatever U read a phrase like: "kill them" it is for Mohammed to urge fellow Muslims to fight back non-believers CHARGING AT THEM, not for US to do so NOW.
What makes U think we R condoning " killing others for not believing or going against their faith" as U stated?? Jihad is mentioned up there.

This is what Islam's prophet Mohammad taught ! Islam was spread by the sword, just look at the history of Islam and you will soon see that Islam is not a religion of peace or tolerance, like the media portrays. Islam's main goal is to totally destroy Israel ; When Israel gained Independence May 1948, she was attacked by 6 Muslim nations, Azzam Pasha Secretary General of the Arab League quoted "This will be a war of extermination" There are hundreds & hundreds of quotes like this, from the leaders of Islam.In the koran it says "Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's cause) is ordained for you (muslims) though you dislike it, and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know" (Surah 2:216) & there are hundreds more like this verse in the koran; With all this in mind, one commandent of Jesus comes to us "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you" (Matthew 5:44)

This Islam mess started when Abraham decided he could not wait on God for a child and with his wife's blessing went into Hagar's tent and conceived Ishmael, who became the father of the arab states. Then Issac came along and received the blessings of God because he was the son that God promised. Hate occurred and the arab nations have always hated Israel and the United States as a result.

Jihad is not killing someone because his faith is different, its about defending muslims when they are attacked. For example, Jihad is fighting against Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan, fighting against Israel in Palestine.

It is a long story, but let me cut it short for you. The whole Jihad thing started During the times of Prophet Mohamed. When woman were treated as rubbish, worthless beings. where little girls were buried alive! Where a sinlge women was forced to Cohibit with a minmum of 10 MAN! Even when you read the Holly Quran it will tell that. Let me quote 24:1 When you meet the unbelivers in Jihad movement kill them, 24:2 Slay their heads..., it really is shocking! Basically JIHAD MEANS HOLLY WAR, meaning Those who don't believe in ALLAH deserve nothing but to be KILLED.

We kill in defense and if we dont then its wrong. Jihad is striving to DEFEND yourself against evil and that can be taken as defending against the evil inside yourself. If a disbeliever wishes to harm you or your family it is a must to defend your family and, if driven to the extreme, kill if there is no alternative. The strategy is that you wish to convert non-believers by EXAMPLE, not by force. Killing disbelievers without having been attacked first by the same disbelievers is wrong (a sin).
