Dogs are a lovely creatures. Yes they have exemplery senses sometimes they get it right. But i do not say they have a sixth sense. They heve better sense than humans. My dog would start moving to the door and scratch the door when i am returning home but actually thi happens when i am atleast 4 kms away speeding towards home. All of us surprised.

We had one german sheperd which just about u can see in the far corner of the road pops out balcony and raises his head and see the end of the road (Actually 200 meters) there u can see my mom returnig from office to home. Believe it or not be it any time, if this guy jumps out to balcony and see the other end of the road, sure mom is comming.

I can tell like this many true stories. The german sheprd was so attached and respectful to my ,other, once it went out of the house and preyed on a rooster. drank its blood and hurriedly came inside the house and my mom watching everything, it occured so dramatic that the dog instantly felt its act was not permitted and obediently with fear crawled and lay total flat with its head resting on its legs till my mom's shouting and disapproving its behaviour a few minutes back. It learnt everything and an obeidient dog.

I do shift work so can go early or late. My Beagle will be lying with her nose sticking out of the gate waiting for me without fail on my return home. Neighbours thinks it's funny.
She does not do it for my husband.
For some reason on one of the walks I take her on at certain times she gets fright end & refuses to move [ spooky],my other dog just continues as normal, love to know whats frightening her.

Our golden retriever is better than any clock, she sits at the door waiting for my hubby to come home every night, always 5 mins before he gets home, I never prompt her, she just goes to the door all excited wagging her tail knowing her hero will be home any minuet, in the summer my hubby gets home an hour earlier and she knows exactly what day those hours start, she wakes him up every morning by shoving her nose under the duvet at exactly 5.30 am, a few seconds before his alarm goes off and she is sat at the bottom of the steps every night at his bed time basically telling him to get up to bed, people don't believe us when we tell them until they see it for themselves, don't ask me how she does it, but after almost 10 years of having her in our life she never fails to amaze me with the things she does.

I allways know when my kids' bus is on the way here, fifteen minutes before they get home, my dogs are sitting in the window watching for them, and when the bus is at the corner, they all start jumping around excited because their babies are comming home.

My dog could tell that I was ill before I knew it. i wonder if he could smell something, some body chemistry?

And it's probably hearing, but how does a dog know that it's owner is on their way home (goes to the door to wait) when the owner is still several blocks away?

yea my dogs have a 6th sense. i have a pit bull and a rottweiler but if there 6th sense is that i'm in danger and they happen to bite someone for hurting me they are put to sleep. when a small dog uses there 6th sense and bites someone nothing happens it's still good dog...

Not sure about the sixth sense but they no your smell and the sound of your foot steps or the sound of your car, ie every time you leave they hear it then wait for you to come back..

That is true.Dogs has some sense than we do.And good thing too,I mean if a robber is ABOUT to enter a house, dog will back and rush to the robber so he cannot rob the house.

Dogs pick up on "routine" very quickly. ex: when you come home from work, what time they get fed.

As far as their ability to find and save people (owners especially) it's their keen noses and unconditional love for their humans.

My dogs remind me it's 6:30pm and time for their supper!
