I mean, the very fact that we exist is pretty strange, come to think of it. We don't really, really know much about the universe, our purpose in life, what's on other people's heads, space, time, dreams and so on. Don't you sometimes just look around and a big ? forms in your brain? I don't mean it in the negative sense, it's just weird.

yes its the biggest mystery of them all. Belief in god is of no help - because the mystery then becomes - why does god exist?
if god exists there is no reason to think he knows why he exists

sometimes...
Interesting that two people said they've grown out of considering why we're here. Surely there's more to life than a job! Jesus said that a man's life doesn't consist in the abundance of his possessions. Another quote from him is "what does it gain a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his own soul?" The fact that some people don't puzzle and seek to find out about God means that they'll have a rude awakening when they die...

This feeling i used to get im my teens alot, iv'e always been a big thinker and our very existance is mind blowing, it's actually impossible as fas as our brains are concerned but yet it is reality?
When i say impossible. If you got to the very root of our creation then there is the question well who put that there? you can't have something made from nothing....... then what is nothing??
I hope iv'e made sense here? GOOD QUESTION.

Oh my god, you're one of those (as I was once and had to stop), that is thinking "who am I, how am I me, how did I become me".
Listen friend, forget all this stuff and try to enjoy your life - what you're doing is a brain killer - I've been there but luckily realised how damaging it can be. I'm signing off now because I don't want to get back into thinking like it again. Take care and chill.

what a good question! well if you can dwell on that believe me the chances of going insane (in a scale of 0 to 100 are 99.9). I also find it very strange, when you really think abwt it. When I think hard abwt it I can feel the gentle bells tolling in my brains! I guess it's TRUE THAT THERE IS COMFORT IN LIES, SO LET US PRETEND THAT WE UNDERSTAND THE UNIVERSE AND EVERYTHING THAT IS IN IT.

Yep and not just us, why does anything exist? Why is there something instead of nothing? The question boggles the mind. If there's nothing though, there isn't anything in the way to stop nothing from becoming something.

WELL---- i would love to take the time to ponder seriously about this but it will never change the fact that I need to go to work tomorrow
Why do we exist? I dont know
Some use religious beliefs to answer this, others view it as mere scientific and evolutionary consequence
