New state-of-the-art radar technology designed to help future forecasters provide earlier warnings for tornadoes and other types of severe and hazardous weather was unveiled recently at the NOAA National Severe Storm Laboratory (NSSL) in Norman, Okla. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is an agency of the Commerce Department

Scientists have developed portable "x-ray" radar which could help find terrorists hiding in a building or seek out people buried in an earthquake. The low-frequency radar has the ability to detect the precise location and movement of people inside a building - or simply breathing beneath rubble.
In weather radar, a new radar is being tested by the military which will reduce scan time to under one minute for the doppler and give greater detail at lower altitudes. This next generation of weather radar, called a “phased array” uses multiple radar beams on multiple frequencies providing faster updates of weather features.
It will also allow scans of the atmosphere with greater detail and at lower altitudes than is currently possible.
America's stealth bombers may be in danger of having their cover blown by a new type of radar that uses cell phone technology, researchers say.
The Air Force says the problem is limited and America's stealth fleet is in no danger. Yet U.S. intelligence reports label the radar a serious threat, and several scientists say they agree.
This new radar technology can pinpoint almost any disturbance in the atmosphere.

Radar Reveals Five Double Asteroid Systems Orbiting Each Other Near Earth, Likely Formed In Close Encounters With Planet:
ITHACA, N.Y. -- Binary asteroids -- two rocky objects orbiting about one another -- appear to be common in Earth-crossing orbits, astronomers using the world's two most powerful astronomical radar telescopes report. And it is probable, they say, that these double asteroid systems have been formed as a result of gravitational effects during close encounters with at least two of the inner planets, including EARTH

If there was anything new, it would be highly classified, and not general knowledge. Since radar was invented, all governments posessing it have kept its workings classified until long after they became obvious by reverse engineering.
