Well it depends what you mean by pre-destined. Would God know what we are going to do if he is all-wise? Certainly. Does that mean we don't have free will? No it doesn't. Look if God knows you will end up killing someone, that doesn't mean you get to blame God for your act since he knew it would happen, because you still made the choice about what to do. From our perspective, we still make choices about everything, about what religion to believe, about what acts to commit, and so on. That is free-will. God doesn't like to interfer with our free-will, so if he knows someone will make bad decisions in life he might let them do so, but through his wisdom some greater good may occur. A very simple analogy, recall the story of Joseph when he was thrown into the well by his brothers. Now if God knew Joseph, a righteous man, would be thrown into the well, wouldn't it have been nice if, perhaps, God made it so the well never was there so Jospeh couldn't be thrown into it? But God's wisdom exceeds mankind's (as I would hope it does!!!) and Joseph getting thrown in the well was just a path to something great happening. This pattern appears throughout the Bible, and if you look close I am sure you would see it occurs throughout our lives as well. But since we only see things from our narrow perspective, it is understandable how some may question or blame God, when in truth he is actually using it for some good consequence that we do not foresee.

Well, simply put, your definition of the pre-destination of life would not be what is really true. What I believe is that there is a definite course of events that will occur in our lives, there are no alternate realities or timelines for us to fall into. Everything that we put into motion will happen. As chaos theory suggests, every action we take, small or large has an impact on the determination of our future. Therefore, being as there are no other possible courses of events for our lives to follow, the ones that will be, are determined ahead of time. I'm not very good at explaining this. Let me put it this way. Time is a conceived notion that we have created for ourselves. The past doesn't exist anymore, the future doesnt exist yet. The only time that is really true is the exact present. The only past and future evidence we have are relics and predictions. (This is why I believe that time travel is not possible). So what will happen definitely will happen, and therefore can, by certain techniques be accurately predicted by us or by some sort of deity, whatever you believe. But the fact remains that our will and effort for certain things to occur is what directly affects the future. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say even if you do not agree with it.

What if turning both left and right was wrong? Then we would be bound for hell either way, yes? And we would thus have our free will even though it's not very attractive since our will has been so tainted by sin that we cannot choose God. Predestination can then coexist very nicely with free will since it takes a loving God to choose us before the beginning of time and then send his Son to die for us and bring us into His family. The Holy Spirit opens our eyes and tells us to go "straight", instead of left or right, and we're much happier for doing so. And then we try to convince the ones turning left or right that both directions are wrong and the cycle continues.

good question.... but everything is not pre-destined, athough it is "in God". I mean, when you decide whether to turn left or right, God knows what will happen to you in both cases.... but you are still free to decide and choose your own future, and this goes on the whole life....

There is no such thing as pre-desteny. You make and are responsible for you own choices.

Bible says God hopes that all persons come to an accurate understanding of him. The pain God feels is like you telling your child if you dont look both ways before you cross the street, you will get run overed. And one day your child gets plowed.... Did you predestine that??? come one man

Predestination is scriptures, But God gave everyone a free will, By God's (foreknowledge,) & knowing what path each would take, Then knowing the beginnning to the end God can predestinate, But it is all based on already knowing what path that person would take, Then God can lay out his plan.

I think the notion of "time" exist only for us humans in order to be able to live on Earth. However, for God the bounderies are not there. In other words, the past, present and future are one thing, no lines. So, what you are about to do is already seen by God. Does that relieve you of your responsiblitiy to act in certain ways and not to act in others, of course NOT.
