I believe its essential to spend some time with a prospective partner whether you want to term it dating or anything else. What a couple needs is some time together in private to get to know each other better. There is no guarantee that the one you are meeting would show his/her true self & not go out of the way to impress. But there are always subtle, unintented gestures, words that would give you a fair insight of the personality if you keenly observe. I'm not a ardent supporter of arranged marraiges, but if thats the choice you have, atleast date a few times & check for some chemistry inbetween. Else you would feel compromised at a later stage!

Whether you call it dating or something else, it is important to know each other before you get married. So, any method, that your community approves, should be ahppily adopted by you two to understand each other.

Caution - the opportunity MUST not be taken to be a passport to indulge in something that you are not supposed to do before marriage. In fact, in India, unfortunately, any girl getting rejected by the bridegroom to be would have to get through hell of times because of the fact that there shall be no takers for such a girl.

That way, it will work fine in India.

knowing eachother befor wedding is very important....at the same time c that u dont hurt ur parents....if u ve no probs with arranged marriage u can talk to ur parents abt ur priorities and can ask em to give u and the other individual sometime to know eachother..if it clicks u can proceed.....i feel dating is not acceptable by most communities in india...dating to some extent is gud but at extreme conditions one is misusing it by getting physical instead of understanding each other.....marriage is alifetime commitment....never take a wrong step.....all the best

No. Get into an arranged marriage so your family is more accepting of your spouse and you can discover each other. If you marry a girl that dated you, wouldn't it mean that she might have dated other guys and who knows what happened then!
