If you can find them, an old Honda Prelude or a Toyota would be your best bet. They usually keep their body integrity pretty well, engine can get well over 150,000 miles on them.

look for something older (1980's) and small. Trucks are generally more expensive.
Classified ads in your newspaper or a used auto dealer may have something....don't expect too much though.

sell you my toyota 4x4 for 1000. you can come and take it. lifted new head, new timing chain plugs wires you know all that crap. tires are in excellent shape. no a/c or radio.
