It is normal. Resist the urge to scratch and you'll be fine. I had a mosquito bite about 2 months ago, travelled and back. It is now almost gone, and no itching. But it used to itch like hell before. Try rubbing with alcohol.

Yes, it's normal and due to a local allergic reaction to the insect venom. Histamines are stored in your body in mast cells as a defence mechanism against allergens, including insect bites.

The histamines are released when your body reacts to the bite and bind to receptors which cause an allergic reaction, in your case itching and swelling at the site.

If you use an antihistamine cream like anthisan which you can buy over the counter, this will help ease the symptoms. It should be applied as soon after the bite as possible. As it's been two weeks, your symptoms will reduce very gradually.

You need to check the ingredients to see if you are allergic to any of them and antihistamine creams shouldn't be used if you're pregnant.

Yes, this is normal, especially if you're sensitive to the venom that the mosquito injects to keep your blood flowing. To relieve the itching, try painting over the bites with clear nail polish.

Use banana peel to take the itch out of mosquito bites. Just rub the pulpy inside surface of the peel on the bite.

Apply an ice pack to the bite.

A dab of toothpaste is soothing, too.

You could also try Calamine Lotion, Aveeno Anti-Itch Lotion.

it is some times normal for the itching to happen even if your skin has scabbed over as new skin is forming so it isn't the bite that is causing the itch its the skin trying to heel itself

Don't paint anything over them: that is likely to exacerbate the irritation. Go and see a doctor, who will probably prescribe anti-inflammatories and/or antibiotics IF you need them.
