I know it's served in top restaurants but do you all cook & eat lamb at home often? If not, why?

I'm Canadian, but I cook lamb at home regularly. Monday I made Leg of Lamb Pot roast, first time I ever cooked it like that. I usually just roast the leg. Every 2 weeks or so we have Lamb Loin Chops. I put Ground Lamb in my meat loaf. I've BBQed it, stewed it, roasted it and sauteed it. Never cooked a rack of lamb though, that's a dinner out meal, and anything shoulder cut is just to yucky.
I'm fortunate that they raise lamb here on Vancouver Island, but I've bought New Zealand and Australian farmed as well.

My wife and I had a lamb leg roast yesterday, sunday, it was really nice. I've made the leftovers into a mouskka . I'm 55 yo and I realised that I never hear of americans eating lamb. It seems my question has been answered. Like anything beef , chicken ,pork it can be tough if it's an old animal it can be like this. Many time's Mutton is sold as lamb(hence the English? saying!!!!. The US must have many grassy pastures for sheep to feed . I have to say the Welsh is fantastic, NZ is pretty good even when they export it. To all of my US cousins it can be so very tender, moist, succulent and tasty. Like anything you have to source what you eat. I never really thought of it as gamey though.

When my brother was a part of FFA (Future Farmers of America) in school, they had a big auction and for dinner they had Lamb. I love trying new foods so I thought I would give it a go. Honestly I thought it was really greasy. I didn't care for the taste either. It may have been the way it was cooked. I think they just put it is a big pot a cooked it, kinda like you would cook a beef roast. I might try it again if it was prepared differently.

I have tried it in a stew. Yes I know where our cut of lamb came from. Our family just doesn't care for the taste. We like other types of meat just not lamb.

I like curried lamb, or lamb chops. Only once in a blue moon. The flavour is quite strong and gets sickening fast.
I prefer mine from New Zealand

We love lamb. It's a bit expensive except during certain times of the year. Generally, it's a holiday dish.

I eat lamb, I like the taste, I'm American.
I eat chops and leg usually, served curried or roasted with mint jelly.

we eat some lamb. Usually chops, usually fried, grilled or baked. Not much though because the flavor is quite intense. Seems American's prefer slightly more bland flavors like in beef or chicken. Must be from our English background.

I tried to cook Lamb chops once at home...it smelled horrid. Tastes yucky too...In the restaurants with mint jelly its even worse!

Yes. We serve lamb chops at the German restaurant where I work. I, personally don't like it. Yuck.
