It's hard to tell the future of any profession. My advice is that you should chose the one with you feel happier. In my case, I studied Mechanical engineering, in the beginning I used to work with manufacturing (I mean something more like Industrial Engineering) and now I work with Aeronautical engineering.

Once you have the Mechanical engineering background, it is possible for you to work in many different areas...

Unfortunately, I can't tell you about Electronics engineering, because I have no background in the area.

Hope I've helped on something!

job of a technician is generally physical and mechanical technician in manufecturing is really hard work.it will pay only if you learn new techniques and acquire additional qualification.Cometetion is also more as comparatively brain work is less.On the other hand an electronics technicians job is lighter and progress is also generally easy as much competition is not there. But in both cases it is advisable to acquire higher qualification after initial experience of two to three years.
