can anyone enlighten me?

Question

Whether one can shape own destiny.. Can negativity be prevented? Some people believe in the so called Murphy`s law and believe that destiny can`t be changed and if something bad has to happen it will happen. On the contrary, some believe in prayers and taking remedies to avoid falling into the trap of ill fortune, which calls for intense faith and patience depending on the magnitude of the problem...what`s your say?
i`d appreciate replies from those who can relate themselves with what is mentioned above! thanks.

In Islam, it is believed that nothing bad will happen to you except from what is decided for you. We, as Muslims, believe that Allah (God) has full knowledge of the past, present and future, yet we are given free will to choose whether we wish to do good or otherwise.
Dua (called supplication) is the only thing, if anything, that can prevent anything bad from happening.
Apart from this Allah doesn't give anyone a burden more than he or she can bear. So, if there is a problem in our life, then Allah also gives us the capacity to bear it. And Allah loves those who are patient. All the ups and downs of life are a test and this life is just a temporary phase. It was not meant to be an easy test. :)

The birth of human being is karmic. His horoscope shows the good and bad karma he has to under go in this particular incarnation. So it includes, diseases, debts, enemies, divorce, separation by death etc. In certain cases it indicates that a cure is possible. In many other cases there is no cure the karma has to be suffered. Where it is possible a solution like prayers , yagna etc are given. Some times a prayer miraculously saves a life.
You must have read about Emperor Humayun praying for the life of his son and offering his own and the prayer was granted.

This is difficult to discuss, and although I think I understand your position, you are still not fully clarifying the meaning of 'enlightenment.' Re: "Oneness is the end of the individual identity" is the tricky part. Many people have moments where they have a sense of losing their individual identity and experience some kind of awareness of oneness with the All or Absolute, and presume this is enlightenment. Sometimes it is only the BEGINNING of the spiritual journey, and sometimes it is as high as they are capable of (interested in) going - so it is their version or understanding of enlightenment. To add my "two cents worth" to the discussion, enlightenment is the end of the egoic 'learned' identity and an internal realization of oneness with the essential nature. (Unity with the All goes without saying) Realization of the truth regarding one's authentic Self and unity with 'the Real' occurs after ego death. It is a dissolution of the delusional self and a permanent stabilizing of one's awareness of being the Observing authentic Self - no longer at the mercy of ego beliefs/illusions. This is the truth that sets us free, the truth of who we are and why we're here. I do not know what "yes, answers" you are referring to, of course. You may be right that people are claiming enlightenment because they have had momentary unity experiences they FEEL as an awareness of "oneness." If this is the case, I agree with the rant, but 'unity consciousness' is not an easy topic for most people to discuss or understand. Thanks for bringing it up.

I have posted this answer a few times, but it one that takes time, patience and temperance to truly learn. Its called the Law of Attraction. If you consistantly focus on the positive aspect of life, it will come true. Instead of "Nothing is Impossible" think, "Everything is Possible." See the difference? Its not a "religious" thing persae, its an inner thought cycle that needs to be reworked. The movie shows people from all makes and backgrounds, and that was what pushed me to try to refocus my life. I haven't yet fully mastered it, but I know I will. Check it out and hopefully it is what you are looking for.

“All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over a white — except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not therefore do injustice to yourselves. Remember one day you will meet Allah and answer your deeds. So beware: Do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.”

Sanjivani. Your name suggest life. And by the way you cannot change your fate. there's nothing that you can do to avoind written in your horoscope. Although you can perform some rituals. You can chant mantras etc.
But then again you have to work hard to get results. Goal is to work hard, and you'll get rewarded as per your fate. And yes, Its not like you have a Dish in front of you and you say, "If food is in my fate then it will come to my mouth". That's wrong attitude. You have to forward your hand pick the food and eat in order to survive. So, get a life , stop asking such questions. Be happy.

I feel that you create your own life. What you see, hear and feel is only what you want or allow to see, hear and feel. We are making choices every second of our life. No one "plans" it for us as in higher power. And it is these choices that shape our life as it is now.

Having faith, prayers or whatever you will is only another way of trying to make choices. Sometimes when we can't make a decision, human nature seeks answers from other sources.

Nevertheless, the path that you are on or have chosen is only reflected from the decisions you have made along the way and the many mistakes you have learnt or need to learn from.

So where and who are you now? And where do you want to go and who do you want to be?

One can definitly shape their own destiny by making the correct decisions in life. With so many opinions in this world what appears to be negative to one person seems positive to another so I guess negativity cannot be prevented. Murphy's law is one opinion but I also think going religious is not the way to change an individuals destiny because what proof do you have that you are following the right religion.

Though future the present the past or all the lives that one leads in facts lead to another as every religion proscribes but that does not mean it goes on like that it depends on you're attitude it solely depends on you just like that it is the simplest yet astoundingly and at the same time the most complex of all.You are the destiny in fact I was broken down piece by piece because of something which i do not wish to elaborate but after some time i put up with the negativities in my mind as one thing put another negative thing so i made it a point to think negativity as the greatest test for anybody and thought myself as the most positive person telling myself that I can defeat it and i did and everything that was upside down turned normal downside up.
There is a famous story a simple day to day happenings seen from a outsiders view and is most often laughable for the person outside as he knows a simple solution is at hand while the person facing it and using all the weapons possible feels totally defeated and starts the negative cycle an example for that:
A boss of an mnc(multi national company)had an urgent meeting at eleven but he was stuck in traffic he got late he cursed the car driver for getting him into this fix throught the whole thing.The chauffer was also in rage and he shouted at the passers by and the other vehicles on the way in a foul language who also irritated and shouted at others and at the driver and all these people when he/she they/them reached their respected destinations they yelled at their families, friends ,sales person ,home maid ,chauffeuer, who in turn yells at others.
See when this simple yet real story is told and we it in a eagle's eye view we see not from a single person's point of view but at the whole perspective the destiny is nothing nothing at all it is just a test to everybody to prove their greatness(yes greatness everyone is a living god only some have made it to others that they are the gods and realized it while we are yet to prove ourselves as the gods who have not yet flared up don't always go with the traditional view of ten thousand years this is also possible really possible)
so the other point is destiny is nothing more than to say that you can either re write the test to prove that you are god are do it again and again untill you get there untill you realize that we are gods put to test by forgetting our real identities untill we clear the most difficult test we have to do it again and again.
now let's come to the boss it is highly unfortunate that he had got caught in the traffic if he had just kept things to himself or in other words had shut up the above things wouldn't have happened(it was a split second decision he could have relaxed himself and the following things wouldn't have happened.The destiny is just a score and a door it depends on what you score by opening up different circumstances that you're put in which is just the door to goddam.
