There is no more money being a Ranger been there done that, we washed out three out of every four then the Army can place them where ever they want. That is not good for you! One gets Jump pay which used to be $155.00 a month then there is hazard pay when they are in harms way that was 150.00. No way to get rich but I get a hundred and ten a month for no knees and half a hand, was it worth it? HELL NO!
God Bless You and the Southern People.

If you're doing it for the money, don't go Ranger or SpecOps.
Unless you’re 100% dedicated to your team and the mission, you'll never finish Ranger school. I had a guy in my platoon that went to Ranger School 3 times. The first time his grandfather died (he was raised by his Grandparents) and he couldn’t focus on the training. The second time, nearly through Ranger School, he fell off the ladder/rope on the Darby Queen and broke his femur. He finally received his tab on the 3rd iteration.
The Ranger Creed says it all:
R-ecognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of my Ranger Regiment.
A-cknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move farther, faster and fight harder than any other soldier.
N-ever shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be. One-hundred-percent and then some.
G-allantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.
E-nergetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.
R-eadily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor.
RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!

Ranger tab doesn't get you any extra money. Expect they get really good reenlistment bonus's sometimes. You will get an extra pay for being on jump status if you are in an airborne unit and deployments pay extra but you don't have to be a Ranger for either of those. You pay is based on your rank and time in service. Ranger is more about the job. Serious gut check. If you go that route come prepared for one of the roughest challenges you will ever face.

A ranger only gets a higher allowance because of hazard pay but the salary is basically the same as other military personnel.

I don't believe there is any more money for being a Ranger, though all Rangers are jump qualified and receive either $150,00 a month or $225 if you are a HALO jumper! HALO is high altitude. low opening!

Uncle Sam has never been known for his generosity, if money is a factor, you don't belong in the military.
