Right before i start im gna admit that ill probably piss some people off with this question......no intention though remember it is just a question.
How come women are (generally) better at cooking?cleaning?ironing?

I can cook, clean and iron better than my missus.
Ironing and cleaning from being in the army, cooking because I am just great.
I choose not to cook, or iron because it's dull. I clean the kitchen, then mop all the hard floors every Saturday morning.
The rest of it the little lady does as I work over 70 miles from home and have to put in a 10 hour day when I get there before travelling home.
The household chores are just split up according to the most practical way of operating in our house.

When you think about how years ago it was the female that stayed home, did the washing, cleaning, cooking, ironing and raising the kids, and the male would be what they called the 'bread winner'. Therefor it is something that has followed on for generations. Some women think it is now discrimination against women, for their spouses to expect such work from them and often like to have and focus on their own career, and often pass on having children. Whereas me, I'm quite traditional and would love to be a house wife! A lovely clean home, washing and ironing done regularly, Children taken and picked up from school & time spent with them, good old home cooking with tea ready for when my partner comes home from a busy days work. However the cost of living and having a family and maintaining a happy home environment has increased over the years, which puts more demand out for both partners to be earning an income.

First off, this question sucks. Secondly, I have tried to cook, and I can't. The ONE time I tried to use an iron, I burned a hole through the shirt, and although I clean, I only do so about once every couple weeks. Do you think all black people are in gangs? Damn, quit stereotyping or I'll kick your ***. Before you say anything smart, yes, I probably could.

Because men are too dumb to comprehend the simplicity of those tasks. Just like watching a woman try and tune a vcr. No offence intended but men and women are better than each other in different tasks. Mind you, some of the best chefs in the world are men. And another thing, have you ever tried ironing? Its not rocket science. The more you do it, the easier it'll become. Try it.
Final point, women actually take pride in their appearance, that's why they do it. And why they do it for us, because they have to be seen with us ;o)

I think just because its taught to them from an early age the little girl shadows the mother. Its not a ridiculous question, just remember not all girls are good at cooking cleaning and so forth. I can't cook at all, and as far as cleaning, i like my messes...

Although I don't agree, I can't cook for sh*t, cleaning is not my specialty, and I don't iron.
But for those that apply: Maybe cuz women tend to take care of what needs to be taken care of. Men don't. I'm sure I'll piss people off with that one!:)
Also when guys get older they pretend they can't do these things or screw up when doing theses things to manipulate the female into doing them for him.

Because they are socialised to expect to be? Whereas men are socialised to expect to be "incompetent" in this regard - some women appear to enjoy this apparent incompetence, to like to indulgently say, "oh dear, come on, give it here, *I'll* do it!"
I'm better at cooking than my partner. He's MUCH better at ironing than me. We're about even on cleaning.

ever since the "house" was invented woman have been the ones who have kept up in the house ex:(cooking cleaning ironing etc.) so it's just in our nature to be better than guys at this type of stuff aight? no affence taken...

The same reason men are generally better at football.....practice.
But to be fair, it's not really that women are better at those things, but that most blokes (such as myself) suck at those things, so women are generally better by default.

Oh Darling why just list the domestic talents - we're also better at driving - working - gardening - shopping - picking movies - with kids - taking care of ourselves - looking better - we're brainier - we're more confident - we always solve problems rationally - we handle our drink better - we do better health and fitness wise - we have to organise EVERYTHING - I could go on but I think you get the jist - however - congratulations on knowing your place - behind a superior woman. xx
