Hell is definitely worse than a heartbreak or sorrow. It is the worst punishment and we should do whatever we can to avoid it and always ask for forgiveness from Allah (God) and to guide us to the straight path.
Hell fire is worst than the Sun. Boiling water will poured over your skin and your flesh will melt. And you will die and be brought back to life and it will be repeated. You will be dying of thirst and you will be give blood and pus to drink and boiling water will be poured down your throat.
Heaven is like nothing you can imagine. With flowing rivers of milk, with everything you every wanted and you will never feel sorrow or unhappy or unsatisfied, all kinds of good food, clothes, etc. This is just a small picture of it.
It is said that a man who has had only misery in his life will be place in Heaven for awhile and when brought out and asked, was there any misery in your life, he will say no and would have forgotten all his misery.
Yet another man who has had all the joy in his life will be placed in Hell for a short while and when brough out will be asked, did you have any happiness in your life and he will say No & would have forgotten all the happiness in his life.

I dont think Heaven and Hell are mental things as you say...They are materialistic things that can be seen and felt

It's either you get everything you ever wanted, and live in Heaven for your entire life (after life) or you get punished for what you did during your life time

u really want to know what hell is like,
imagine this

the Prophet said, "The awnings of Hell have four thick walls, each wall a distance of forty years."

"O you who believe, save yourselves and your families from a fire whose fuel is men and stones, over which are (appointed) angels, stern (and) severe, who do not disobey allah in what He orders them and (who) do (precisely) what they are commanded."
Quran sura at-Tahreem 66:6

"Indeed the hypocrites are in the lowest depths of the Hell- fire: you will find no helper for them."
Quran sura an -Nisa 4:145

The Noble Qur'an Hud 11:106
As for those who are wretched, they will be in the Fire, sighing in a high and low tone.

"Indeed, it throws about sparks (as huge) as a palace, as if they were yellow camels."
Quran sura al- Mursalat 77:32-33

"By no means! For it is Latha (fire of Hell), burning away right to the skull."
Quran sur al- Ma'arij 70:15-16

"Thus. Then they will taste it- a boiling fluid and a filthy fluid of pus and blood and other penalties of a similar kind to match them."
Quran sura Sad 38:57-58

"Say, The truth is from your Lord, so let him who will, believe, and let him who will, reject (it).' Indeed we have prepared fo the wrong doers a fire whose walls surround them. If they call for relief, they will be relieved with wate4r like molten brass that will scald their faces. How dreadful the drink. How evil the resting place."
Quran sura al-Kalf 18:29

Heaven and hell are real places, not thoughts. The Devil - Lucifer/Satan,Father of Lies etc - will like you to believe these are imaginary places but in truth they exist and we are all destined for one or the other.

I know which one I want to go to which is why I worship Jesus Messiah. One day you will all know these are true words.

it sounds nice but the truth sounds alot nicer.

when you die, it's like falling asleep, we feel nothing, sense nothing and hear nothing.
in the Resurrection we are re-created by God to a perfect life on earth with our other lost loved ones. I think that would make anyone happy.
