How safe are mammograms when it comes to the radiation? How safe are they when the lump turns out to be tumor and they flattened it? Might that effect the tomor? Might that cause cancer sells to come loose and end up in the lymph system?

No, the small amount of radiation you are exposed to causes minimal damage compared to what a possible mass could do. The tumor will be there even after the compression, it will just be easier to see. Don't look for excuses. Get the films done if you want to be around to see your family! It can save your life!

Lets start out with yes mammograms are very safe. the amount of radiation used is minimal. Although it may seem like things are being flattened, that is really not the case. If there is a tumor present, a mammogram will not affect it at all. I am 39yrs old hon & have had to have a mammogram every 6mon since I was 33. I had to have a tumor removed 6yrs ago. If it hadn't been for mammography, I may not be here today. Yes they are uncomfortable & sometimes they downright hurt. But it doesn't take long & it could save your life.

They are safe and well proven to be reliable. The tumor should stay intact. If it's too prominent for a mammogram, then they may need to do a needle biopsy. [they might need to anyway]. Best wishes.

The radiation is minimal with modern equipment, and the danger of spreading a cancer is far out weighed by early detection.

Let's just say that I would rather have a little radiation and know if my breasts are healthy, then to be too worried about the latter part of your question and not know. If you have cancer in your breast, you most likely have cancer in your lymph system already.
