It is safe, but very very messy as the food will splatter all over the microwave. Also, it will dry out faster this way, so if you just want to warm your gravys its better to cover them.

The radiation levels are the same weather you cover it or not.

You should always wear clothing when warming things in the microwave. Yes, it is safe as long as it isn't something that can ultimately boil....and it's not necessarily a safety issue, but rather a "messy" issue. Use a papertowel to gently cover whatever your cooking so you don't get splatter. good luck.

It doesn't affect your health.

But a neat trick to keep things from drying out and splattering all over your microwave is to wet a paper towel and put it over the dish. This way it won't fall off, there's no extra dish, and it won't melt like cling wrap.

It is generally recommended that food be covered, especially when microwaving small individual items which may dry out. Covering food will also reduce splashing.
