Interesting dilemma. Why is it so hard to find a down to earth, real and honest man nowadays? I am so tired of the players and those who want nothing but "friends with benefits"!!!!!

If they are upfront about the friends with benefits than they are all you are asking for and more. You want to marry someone you just met then try the Christian Singles Connections.

Hard question to answer. I'm 55 now, look about 40 but as the years have gone by I have focused on issues of honesty, integrity, and self-worth and my own personal development in these areas. I wonder what it might have been like if I did this earlier in life.

I try not to categorize relationships. "Friends with benefits" may be a very tender and sweet relationship or it could only be a one-way street. I am a very down to earth person, but I am not sure what kind of relationship I want at this point in my life.

This is the kind of question to be discussed in front of a word burning fireplace with a bottle of Merlot.

I'm not a man, but I can share with you how I got mine.

An old, wise lady once asked me to write down a list of qualities that I was looking for in a mate. Then I was told to get to work and become those things so I can attract them. I wasn't sure what she meant by that at the time, but I learned that I couldn't very well require someone to give me the things that I couldn't give them. Because of that excerise, I now have an amazing man in my life. Water really does seeks it's own level...

No quality has gone anywhere. As it was right across the history of civilisation, there are both honest and dishonest people in the world. And noone is absolutely honest or absolutely dishonest either.

Its just that we bump into people at random, and sometimes, random throws of a coin end up giving us a series of heads instead of equal numbers of heads and tails.

There is also the effect of easy anonymity. Good old days, we lived in strongly knit communities- everyone knew everyone - the incentives to be honest were very high. In todays faceless cities, or the even more faceless internet, there is not much to lose by being dishonest. No one knows you directly, you go scot free.

That was theory. But trust me, there is still as much good as always. Just bide your time, be careful with people. Meet them in their original social context - with their friends and your friends, know their families. Be patient and slow with relationships - allow people enough opportunity to display their true colors. Surely you will find enough genuinely good friends whom you can be proud of. In time you will lose your cynicism, and gain tons of friends !

All the best.

Now days with all the relationships falling apart; men or boys, see a lot of heart ache and injustice. With the freedom of sexual affairs and relationships between men and women now days, why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free? The qualities you seek are not gone; they are alive and well in men who have respect for women and women who respect themselves. The only real problem you are having right now is waiting till he finds you.. Don't get in a hurry, enjoy dating without the sexual pressures, and if they come up; and your not ready, than he's not the right one. All good men wants a good women!

Unfortunately, so called role models lack both of these characteristics. They still exist within many people, however, all too often, cheating, lying and other unsavory characteristics are rewarded.
Often, it may be a matter of where you look for people of honor.
Oher times, it may be that you may think people like this are geeks, or goody goodies.
I hope you find what you seek. It's there, just be sure that when your are disappointed, it's not a reflection of your own character.
Good luck.

Same place morals went, it was bound to happen sometime.I completely understand what you mean though, there is only one group (not every single one of them) of people on this earth that seem to still have a great sense of morals.Jehovah's Witnesses.

You just got to keep looking, but I very much doubt you'll find one and I'm refering to both sexes. Technically, no one that ever set foot on earth is honest. We all lie at one time or another. It just depends on how you look at it. So the answer lies within yourself...
