I still have a long way to go before i can be a doctor, but i really wish to be a doctor in Singapore.
I've heard its very difficult to be a doctor here, and competition is very stiff.
Can anyone give me any information how i might increase my chances of being a doctor?

Also, what qualifications do i need?
What med schools would you recommend out there?
How much does a medicine course costs?

Thanks alot.

You need the general pre-requisites for any medical school. Organic Chemistry, Biochemsitry, Physics, Calculus, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Immunology, Bacteriology/Microbiology, Physiology, etc.

Don't forget to take the MCATs.

I don't know any med school in Singapore, but UC Davis has a pretty good med school in California.

Med schools have also started looking for students who aren't coming from a science major. So you could take all the course work for med school, but major in psychology or a social science.

Another important thing to remember is to volunteer. Try to volunteer at a hospital or a free clinic in your area. Med school admissions counselors love the volunteers.
