depends what's the reason of fight. if it was all my fault, i'll always apologize firts, but if the blame is on my bf, of course he needs to say sorry...
it is not about egoism, but guys are considered to be emotionally stronger than girls, girls cant think clearly when they are angry, we are more emotional...that's probably the reason why we expect guys to console us...

I can't help but think of how I used to observe boys and girls when I was a teacher. The boys could knock each other down, head butt each other, tell them they were ugly and their momma dresses them funny and so on, and then walk home from school the best of friends. Girls on the other hand, well you know how they were, they put it all in their pot to stew on it.
Females take offenses differently than males. I know I get my nose tweaked so easy with my husband, and I would probably stew on it all day. But, I am so thank full for his big strong shoulder that nudges me and his wink and smile that tell s me he's sorry that just melts it all away. I don't have a problem as a woman knowing he's stronger than me in that area.
Be the strong shoulder and wink and smile for her, even if she's wrong. She will feel safe with you and will know that you both can over come the 'stuff' that happens. She might not even get so mad at you next time, and might learn from your example to be the first to say sorry.
Just one woman's opinion.

No, this means that girls got more choice. There is a long queue for them. Not the case for boys. So the boy better go to girl to console her. If he waits for girl to come to him, he will find that the girl is gone with someone else.

well if it is the guys fault then it is ok to say sorry first..
but if what are you trying to say is, when there is a fight, men usually tends to end it by saying sorry, although it is not their fault. i've read from a magazine that those men who do it really loves their girl.. because they dont want to end or ruin their relationship towards their girl brought about by this fight. because some girls when they get really mad, they'll just say its over.. and thats the end..
