Other than punching him in the balls (cheap!) is there a way to stop a larger, stronger opponent? Like punching him in the adam's apple, or in the armpit, or something?

Don't hit the nuts!! Or, if you do, it should be as a last resort and without hesitation. Hit hard and fast. Not because its cheap, but because its likely that he won't feel it instantly (because of alcohol, or plain old adrenaline). I would say go for the eyes, kneecap (though kicks are to be avoided, and this one can take some practice), throat or nose..hit the nose with an upwards strike with the palm of your hand..it'll cause the attacker's eyes to tear. The best bet is to go for an area that your assailant cant function without, rather than a target which is vulnerable and sensitive but doesn't immediately immobilise them. If the guy can't breathe or walk, he can hardly attack you, now can he?

Arms Locks and various graple moves will take the fight out of any person and with them being bigger than you some of these holds will actual hurt more becasue you are smaller.

FYI: a punch to the adam's apple is leathal and that is the worst cheap shot of all, to kill an oponent when you life is not in danger.

why is punching them in the balls cheap? damn him to hell, if he is going to smash your pretty face in, take his future out!

I agree totally 100% with the first reply. I use that, and when people ask me what to do I show them. If any of you want to try it, practise on an old car tyre with no rim. roll it against a wall, and practise stomping it. the key is in pushing your foot THROUGH the tyre, and try to make the sides compress and touch. dont use a hard tyre, but find one just soft enough to offer resistence.

after a while you will be natural and lethal. you can also practise different entry attempts, from in front, side on, walk in etc.

it is a great offense and defense.

as for the eye poke. if you can, forget coming in from the side, but push hard against the top eyelid (feel over your own eyelid, and push gently into the area that is soft where the ridge of bone and eye meet). the best way to do it, is to anchor the head or neck while you use the thumb.

It takes only 3 pounds of pressure to brake a bone and some take even less. Most large people take there size for granted but in reality it leaves them with many weaknesses. a quick stump on the big toe then strike the inner side of the apposite knee willl drop him and his wait wil keep him down, this would be good time run or club him in the head with what ever is handy.

There lots of ways to stop a person.
The following areas are good targets
Eyes
nose
throat
neck
temple
tmj joint
groin
knee
top of the foot
fingers
ears

I would move out of a big guys ways before I try to meet his force straight on. If someone larger than you is attacking you (which will be most attckers), you better figure out your defense first, because one hit and you will not get a chance to do offense.

There are many pressure points on the human body. You just named 2 of them. Are you talking about a real situation or sport? In sports there are rules. In a real fight, anything goes. If you are attacked by a larger enemy, there is no such thing as "cheap" or "dirty", do whatever you have to do to protect yourself. If you aren't attacked, you shouldn't be fighting in the 1st place.

Jab 2 fingers as hard as you can into the area under his adams apple, where it dips in a little. Try it on yourself, just putting your fingers there is uncomfortable. Or if you're very close to his ear, scream as loudly as you can directly into his ear.

FIRST OF ALL QUICKNESS SHOULD BE YOUR STRONG POINT, AS WELL AS STAMINA, I HAVE STUDIED JEET KUNE DO, WHICH WAS CREATED BY BRUCE LEE. GO TO THE LIBRARY AND LOOK FOR A BOOK CONTAINING BRUCE'S TEACHINGS AND THOUGHTS TO GET AN IDEA. HE WAS A VERY BRILLIANT MAN.(everyone knows he could fight) DON'T TRY TO BE BRUCE ,YOU HAVE TO LEARN ''YOUR'' STRENGHTS AND WEAKNESSES AS WELL AS YOUR OPPONENTS...avoid fighting at all cost..BUT IF SO.. BE BRAVE,....GOOD LUCK.
