How does your body get nutrients from sweetcorn if it can't even digest it?

Protein: 2.9g
Carbohydrate: 17g

Fiber: 2.4g

Contains: Vitamin B1 (thiamin), folate, vitamin C, vitamin B5.

The anti-oxidant zeaxanthin found in corn is responsible for it's yellow color. Zeaxanthin is a carotenoid and has been found to be a more potent anti-oxidant than b-carotene.

Your body probably digests more than you realize. All vegetables are considered to be good for you. However, there are better choices to be made. Sweet corn is, as the name implies, full of sugar. Actually, it's starch which is the worst kind of sugar if you happen to have issues with blood glucose levels or a predisposition toward diabetes. It does provide vitamins A & C, but compared to green leafy vegetables, it simply doesn't cut the mustard.

depends on your view about genetically modified foods by far the majority of sweetcorn has now crosspollinated with GM varieties
