Why keep our troops where they are not wanted? And I do mean by the people of Iraq.

It's a very tough call on whether to just leave Iraq. I disagree 100% with President Bush's initial invasion, and I disagree with him continually using September 11th as an excuse for it. I think that what we can't do is forget how we got in that situation. The Republicans talk tough about how the Terrorists are flooding Iraq and if we leave they will have a new Country to operate in. However, they never mention that the Terrorists weren't there before we invaded. 99% of the mess in Iraq has been caused by the actions of the Bush Administration and the Republican Leadership providing no oversight.
I definitely think we need to put every option available to us on the table, including a complete withdrawl and find a new course to take in that Country. President Bush said today that he was willing to work with the Democrats and that he thinks we need a new direction for Iraq. But does anyone believe that his comments weren't simply political? Can you honestly say that the Democrats taking control of the House and most likely the Senate had nothing to do with his complete reversal in attitude? He even said that people were mistaken if they think that he has had a "Stay The Course" strategy, even though that was his slogan for the war for years. Bush cares nothing for the American people or anyone else in the World. I hope with Democrats in power this Country can finally start to turn back in the right direction.

No. We need to secure the place before pulling our troops out. My suggestion is to send in the police lots of them. The rule of law needs to be established in Iraq. Just shooting insurgents is not the answer.

Yes, ASAP. Now that the Democrats are the majority in Congress--a miracle!--we should have an exit strategy in place soon. We should never have been there to begin with. I marched in protest before we went in and have been working for the last two years to get Democrats back in power so we can get them out. I have nephews in the military, and do not want them killed or maimed because of the lies that we have been told. Really, don't get me started...

To pull out now would be disastrous. We need to keep at what we've been doing and try , even harder, with new tragedies to stabilize that country.
