If you are going to put your faith in anyone or anything besides yourself, than Santa is as good as any.

No. Why? Because he is not real. You should read the history of Santa Claus from an authoritative history book on religion. Santa Claus is a "myth". According to certain history books, Santa Claus actually was based on certain saints, but the saints' name and image is not as potrayed in the current image of Santa Claus.
It is better for you to have faith in the actual teaching of Jesus (PBUH).

The story of Santa Claus begins with the real Saint Nicholas, an early Christian bishop who was known for helping the poor, especially anonymously. Many stories grew up around him, including secretly giving bags of gold for dowries to three young women who otherwise would not have been able to marry. His feast is celebrated December 6, and in some countries he fills children's shoes with treats the night before.
In other countries the Three Kings bring gifts, sometimes on January 6. In some other places it is the Christ child (das Kristkindl) who brings children gifts.
All of these customs are meant to point to the incredible generosity of God whose gift of his Son Jesus is celebrated at Christmastime, and the generosity and sharing that gift invites us to take part in. Here's what I'd suggest: have faith in God and be grateful for God's great gift, imitate Nicholas in his generosity, and enjoy and have fun with the stories of Santa and the spirit of giving he represents, trying to avoid the materialism and greed that can creep into it. I don't actually remember believing in or losing faith in Santa's reality; I was an early reader and at age 3 read the box in my parents' closet that held the tricycle that Santa supposedly put under the tree. But I still think it's fun.

Of course I believe!! Santa is really St. Nicholas and his feast day is December 6th. St. Nick is the patron Saint of Children and was a real person in Asia Minor. He was a Bishop and a holy man.
The Santa of the story the Night Before Christmas was written by a Christian theologian as a story for his children.
Santa is a representation of Love. I enjoy coming out of Church late on Christmas eve and feeling the magic of the season all around, I take a little look up in the sky for the old boy. ;-)

I turned 60 this year, and I have more faith in Santa Claus then any one else. He has never failed me in all these years. He gives and doesn't expect anything in return. He never fails to put a smile on my face, and he takes me back to my youth, so yes, you should have faith in Santa Claus.

Santa Claus is described as a visible human who is overweight and wears red and flys in a sled with reindeer during the night of December 24th.
Considering that people can stay awake and watch chimneys on the evening of December 24th and see that Santa doesn't come.

God reveals, man observes. Revelation versus science.
From the bible (our source of revelation) we have God existing before and creating all that we can observe.
From science, we know we have no facts about God. None. However we do have facts about Santa Claus. You can believe what you want; however, Santa Claus is made up and his abilities does not meet with the facts as we know them.

I'm glad you asked me that, because my question: "Dyslexic satanists who worship Santa: Do you always get what you want at Christmas?" was pulled for a chatting violation. I think the Yamster is an elf.
