I had a kodak camera that had 5.0 mp and it shot great closeups and it was always clear and great shots. Well it decided to stop working and now im thinking about getting the sony cyber shot with 6.0mp . Its alot cheaper that my kodak cost ( it costed around 500.00 and this cost under 200.00) and im wondering if it is a good idea go buy it ...
With it having more mega pixels, does that mean I will get an even better shot? I mainly shoot scenery, animals, closeups and family outings ect... thnx!!

The Kodak's great quality was mostly determined by its lens. We had a Kodak too, and the colors were just fantastic (not very realistic... sort of over the top, techni-color, but the pictures always looked great.)
The difference between 5 and 6 mega-pixels is that you have extra resolution for large prints. You won't see any difference at all with regular sizes, but if you make a full page print, and if you look VERY closely, you should see a tiny bit more detail with 6 mega-pixels.
The fact that the Sony is much cheaper than your Kodak doesn't have to be a bad sign - prices have plummeted over the past few years. A similar Kodak is probably much cheaper now, too. Still, before you buy, have a look at the in-depth reviews. It's always good to know in advance about any pros and cons of the specific model you're interested in:
