I'm trying to figure out what were some of the characteristics of the Israelites in the Bible when Moses is leading them to the Promise Land. I would like answers like "They were jealous" or something like that.

They were diligent. They were faithful. They were weary. They were struggling. They were obedient. They were disobedient. In the end they followed Moses.

Moses himself uttered a prophecy foretelling Israel’s rebelliousness, bought about after sufferingthe way they rebelled in the wilderness during their trk to the promised land,
“For I—I well know your rebelliousness and your stiff neck. If while I am yet alive with you today, you have proved rebellious in behavior toward Jehovah, then how much more so after my death!”
In view of that prophecy, should it cause any to wonder why his people in general later failed to accept the greater Moses, Jesus Christ, their Messiah?—Deut. 31:1-30.

Try these words, covetous, murderers, thieves, misogynists, invaders. The Old Testament doesn't paint a very good picture of the Israelites, if you bother to read it without all of the religious mumbo jumbo.
