What is it with all the bashing?....

I say, if someone wants to practice it, why not!!!!

Why do people have to just throw their two cents in about "brain washing" and "bible lies" and crap??.....

I let you say what you want about practicing witch craft... Go ahead.... I let you have your say about homosexuality....... Go ahead.....

So, why do you try to stop me from practicing and bash my faith because you don't believe?

I love my Christianity!!!.... I love my Lord and Savior... and if you don't want to hear it, just treat my faith and the message you hear, the same way you treat your cable.... Just turn the station..... But, don't bash me!!!!

nothing wrong with condemning unlike-minded people to hell?

Ehhh... part of me agrees with you, but at the same time...

I mean, do you really think it's positive for our society that a large percentage of people think that the world is 6,000 years old? That there's no evidence for evolution, which has been accepted by the entire scientific community? That it's possible that the human race could have started out with two people, Adam & Eve? That some guy really put every animal in the world on an ark? That some guy multiplied food and walked on water? That some guy rose from the dead and did all sorts of other totally unverifiable things?

I don't think it is. People have the right to believe whatever they want, but religion is convincing people that certain things happened that just didn't, or that certain things are wrong that really aren't. I don't think that's positive for our society and our species as a whole. If you want to believe that a higher power exists, great... but if you want to believe that the universe is 6,000 years old, or that Big Bang Theory is BS just because it disagrees with the Bible, then I'm afraid I have a problem with that.

I believe that the most important part of life is to gain knowledge. But religion doesn't encourage gaining knowledge or seeking the truth; religion says "here is the truth; accept it, or else." I don't think that's a good thing, and that's why I have a problem with religion.

I agree there is a lot of bashing of Christians on this category R&S, I had hope to learn more & grow Spiritually on this site. I think some should ask questions on another site. Why are atheists on a section site R&S they don't believe in any gods good or bad. There is nothing new for them to gain knowledge about, as they reject all religious beliefs.

I am proud I am the daughter of the Most High Almighty God.I too love my savior Jesus! I wish & pray that everyone would believe in Jesus , and develope a relationship with Him.It is sweet sweet.time spent With Jesus , praising God the Father! Amen!

Sure, why not, go for it. Just remember that if you are free to practice Christianity then other people are free to bash it. When you stand behind something and label yourself as a member of a particular group, there's no reason why someone shouldn't assume you are behind it 100%.

Christians have a lot of power in this country and occasionally try to change laws for religious reasons which would take away the rights of non-Christians. For this reason, some people may see you as a threat and wish that you wouldn't choose to stand behind something that tries to take away the rights of others. This is why you might feel that people are trying to change you.

It's nice that you tolerate different views on homosexuality. Someone may think it's not so nice when you vote against gay marriage because you are a Christian and you believe others should have to follow "Christian rules". They take that part as a personal attack. I think you understand the difference.

exactly. it's dust kickers just trying to rile you up. it still requires faith to be an atheist, agnostic, or someone who ''doesn't belief in anything.'' sure an atheist has stepped on my toes before. does that mean that all of you are bad ppl? naw...

now, some christians aren't too tactful (that's putting it lightly) but that's because they're ppl. some ppl ''aren't too tactful,'' either. it's not the fact that they're christians, it's the fact that they're ppl.

lemme tell ya, if there were no christians on earth, ppl would still find something else to gripe about ;-) just like racism, really. if we were all white, for example, there would be fights b/c some brunette made a slur about my sandy blonde hair.

humans are highly adaptable; they will adapt quickly to their environment, therein lies a problem, unless they're continually being sharpened, they will grow dull to adapt thuroughly to their environment. humans tend toward weaknesses under the gravity of sloth.

this intollerance would surely exist under some other name, but it would still exist. if you remove what seems to be causing a problem, and the problem is still there, then that thing wasn't causing the problem in the first place.

if you look through a camera and see a big blurry thing, you wouldn't think that there's some big blurry thing floating right in front of you, you'd immediately conclude that there was a smudge on the lens. that's what i'm trying to say. the smudge is on the lens, NOT on the world around you.

Amen!! I'm a Christian and I agree with you. As a Christian all I want to do is read my Bible, Pray to God, And be good to others. Whats wrong with that? Nothing and people should not be bashing our faith. Like you I don't bash other faiths either. People should learn to be a little less judgmental and let every one practice their own faith freely!!

Bravo Ginger,

Reality check. No one is denying you your right to be a Christian or to practice your belief. What most non-Christians here take offense to is the bigoted, prejudicial and hypocritical behavior your fellow Christians have against us.

If your fellow Christians had not cast the first stone then maybe this bashing and counter-bashing would not have started in the first place.

Peace and respect to tyou.

Well said. I really wish more were open-minded as u. This bash because they do not understand nor they care to understand. I love Christianity and My Lord and Saviour too, and I too get bashed because I don't believe in Christianity the same way as majority of the others. But well said.

well, I'say we should take the bashing and yet be loving towards the one's who bash us. I know its easy to say that, but that is what christ preached and wanted us to learn. We should pray for the people who make fun of us. Only then do we really show them that Christ is in us and that we are not people who do like everyone else. According to me, there are times when we should react, but we should not treat even the people who bash us with contempt and anger. We should learn and show the way of love. Can't say I practise it fully. we also tend to strike back when we are hurt and when we are downtrodden, but when we have the grace of God in us we will be able to behave the way he wants us to.

Most don't understand Christianity, or since they have had experience with losers that claim to be Christian, they write off the faith system. Our salvation is based on faith, not practicing sinlessness. I wish they would at least get the truth before bashing!

Generalisations

I just love 'em.

Listen, it's not that the collective (by which you accuse 'us', whoever we may be) hate your religion, or even discourage your practice of loving ol' Jesus and friends. My only, lets call annoyance, with religions are the whole "Come join us!" cruade, in which I'm set upon by a dozen of followers and innumerable flyers telling me I'm going to hell etc etc etc.

If you don't preach your stuff then thats great. I have nothing against you....HOWEVER, if you preach your "gibberish" onto other people, then all I can say is - for shame, for shame!
