He has so many secret folders and files and documents. Even though this is my computer, there are lots of folders, files etc. that I can't even open. Alot of "properties" are restricted, and even has "proxy" , it seems like I can't get into anything. I did find something called, "socks4version," I looked it up and can't understand what it means. I also found "macro." When I asked him about it, he said it was kind of difficult and would not understand it. What is "socks4version?" And what is "macro?" I find it very difficult to believe him, nohing makes sense to me.

it sounds like your bf is dl files that are important to him. so if i were you i would warn my bf that if he doesn't tell me what those files are on comp. I would "delete" it. even if you cant open those files you can remove them. from what i noe, you dont need a password to remove a file from you own comp. beside thats your comp. you should be able to do whatever you want with it. also, if you asked him what those files are, no matter how difficult it is..he should be able to explain it to you.i mean..so what if you dont get it? atleast if he tries to explain it to you wouldnt that make you feel more comfortable about him downloading all these files on ur comp? :D

A macro in computer science is an abstraction, that defines how a certain input pattern is replaced by an output pattern according to a defined set of rules. There are three broad categories of macros, and each takes a different kind of input pattern to produce a different kind of output pattern.
Programming macros take a computer program as input and output a new, expanded program. Hence, this process is called macro-expansion and the tool that does this is called a macro-expander or a preprocessor. For many programming languages, a macro expander is included in the interpreter or compiler. These macros are typically used to enable a higher level of abstraction in programming languages.
Keyboard macros and application macros take a simple command as input and then output a new expanded set of commands or instructions. These macros are typically used to automate frequently-used sequences or lists of keystrokes or mouse movements.

SOCKS is an Internet protocol that allows client-server applications to transparently use the services of a network firewall. SOCKS is an abbreviation for "SOCKetS" [1].
Clients behind a firewall wanting to access exterior servers connect to a SOCKS proxy server instead. This proxy server controls the eligibility of the client to access the external server and passes the request on to the server. SOCKS can also be used in the opposite way; letting clients outside the firewall ("exterior clients") connect to servers inside the firewall (internal servers).
The protocol was originally developed by David Koblas, a system administrator for MIPS Computer Systems. After MIPS was taken over by Silicon Graphics in 1992, Koblas presented a paper on SOCKS at that year's Usenix Security Symposium and SOCKS became publicly available.[1] The protocol was extended to version 4 by Ying-Da Lee of NEC.
Unofficial SOCKS 4a extensions adds support for DNS names to resolve names with SOCKS server. The current version 5 of the protocol, RFC 1928 or authenticated firewall traversal, extends the previous version by supporting UDP, authentication, letting the SOCKS server resolve hostnames for the SOCKS client, and IPv6.
The SOCKS reference architecture and client are owned by Permeo Technologies,[2] a spin-off from NEC.[3]
According to the OSI model it is an intermediate layer between the application layer and the transport layer.

socks4 or socks5 are files needed for the computer , they are not user files and you can not find anything interesting in it. And a macro is nothing but a set of commands stored for repetitive use. Are you trying to understand computer operation or you want to know what your bf has stored on your computer. In any case sock4 and a macro has nothing to bother about.

no wonder he locks everything up your such a snoop youmust be very annoying
he is right you wont undertsand it but here goes
SOCKS4.x is a protocol that relays TCP sessions at a firewall host to allow application users transparent access across the firewall.
Because the protocol is independent of application protocols, it can be used for many different services, such as telnet, ftp, finger, whois, gopher, WWW, etc.
Access control can be applied at the beginning of each TCP session; thereafter the server simply relays the data between the client and the application server,
incurring minimum processing overhead.
a Macro is a way your computer is instructed to do certain things in a certain order , what things? anything.
ok general rule for men, we think with our *****
provided you are having sex at least once per day, more often the better he wont wander

Socks is a protocol. You can get more information on this link:

Macros are usually not safe things. I suppose you must be having Antivirus software running. Do keep them updated. Do also install antispywares in your comp.
