Viji's answer is right. But you should still use protection, as diabetics are more susceptible to things like yeast infections, and heal more slowly than someone without diabetes.

Diabetes is not contagious. Its a failure of the pancreas to make enough insulin or receptors in the cells to take up the glucose despite sufficient insulin.
