I am trying to remember where this verse is located so I can reread it without spending hours searching for it in each Gospel. I know it contained the words:

Jesus said, Verily Verily, I say unto I am not emmanuel.

I read in the King James Version several times on my own and in church I just can't remember where it is. All I really know is that it is in the New Testament and I think it is in one of the Gospels.

for those who says it is not in the bible I know it is. I have a good memory for remembering verse from the bible, but since I haven't looked at it in so long I can remember where it is located.

The Angel Gabriel told Joseph and Mary that they are to call Him Immanuel. The name Immanuel means "God is with us". Jesus' name 'Jesus' is the later Hebrew translation & 'Christ' is the Greek translation for "messiah" (annointed one, one who was sent) So Gabriel, sent by God, did not tell Mary to name Him Jesus. He is Immanuel, given by God. Also in Isaiah 7:14 the Lord tells of a virgin being with child and He is to be named Immanuel.

At the time of Judah's deliverance from Syria & Ephraim, many mothers named their firstborn sons Immanuel because they believed the truth of Isaiah's message. I have just looked through 3 reference books I have & the Bible and can't find anything on Jesus' saying He is not Immanuel. I do know that in the OT, some people thought that Isaiah was the Messiah at first and he denied it, though God did sent him to His people. And in the NT some people thought that Jesus was Isaiah reincarnated, and Jesus denied that He was anyone else other than the Son of God. So you are right in saying that others claimed Jesus to be Immanuel (Isaiah reincarnated who ancestors thought was Immanuel, their Messiah) & Jesus told them that He wasn't who they thought He was. But I still can't find the words that you quoted in your statement. If you find it, please email me. Thanks!

You wouldn't find that in the King James Version, nor in the A.V., nor in the N.I.V. nor in most others. I haven't checked, but it might appear in the New World Translation or some such ... or in a bible of the First Church of Satan.

You must have been sleeping when you were in Church that Sunday!!

Isaiah 7:14 -- Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

St. Matthew 1:23 -- Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Isaiah, Chapter No. 7, Verse No 14, says, prophesying of…‘The coming of a person who will be born to a virgin - his name shall be Emmanuel.’ They say… the Christians - it refers to Jesus Christ peace be upon him. Born to a virgin - the Hebrew word there is ‘amla’, which means not ‘a virgin’- ‘a young lady.’ The word for ‘virgin’ in Hebrew is, ‘baitula’, which is not there. Even if you agree - we are using concordance - we agree… ‘Virgin’… ‘Virgin’ - No problem. It says… ‘He will be called Immanuel.’ No where in the Bible is Jesus Christ peace be upon him, is called as Immanuel - Unfulfilled prophecy

I am not sure, but I really don't think that verse is in the Bible.

I don't think it is . For according to God Mary was supposed to call him Emmanual when he was born but didn't tell Joseph that . BUT Joseph adopted the child as his own and called him Jesus.
