Is this fact or fiction? What are you doing wasting time on Yahoo answers when should be on your way to the airport.? Do you make a habit of missing flights?
If you woke up late and know that you will not make it, you go and catch a subsequent flight and, if necessary, pay a supplement.
If this is an anxiety panic for a future flight, you leave your home in plenty of time to avoid traffic jams, check in and controls and you will not miss it.

Well, with that scenario you will miss your flight. Most tickets are good to use again within a year - there will be a fee to rebook the flight - fee can range from $50 - $100 depends on the airline.
Give the airline a call (they all have toll free numbers) and they will tell you how long the ticket is good for and if there will be a charge to rebook. You cannot do this on line - this problem requires speaking to the airline agent. Hope this helps. :)

If you finally convinced you are going to be late, call either your travel agent or the airline to cancel the flight before check in closed, in most of the cases you will get your money back , but if you dont inform them there are 99% chances you will loose the money.at least save this money and then go for another flight.

Well i hope u made it, and didn't get put down as a no show or there is probably no chance of them reinstating it for you. Hopefully you called your travel agent or airline and managed to pay a date change fee and book a later flight.
If not you'll know not to do the same again as it cn end up costing you a lot of money

What an odd question!
You miss the plane and fly at a different time.
You could ask Scotty to beam you there.

It would've help to know which airline, since they all have different policies.
It's possible to do something about it. But I'll save that answer for a serious question.
