of children, famine, poverty, more wars, rape, murder, terrorism, genocide, drought, famine, natural disasters of all kinds... the list is endless. And, please don't give me that 'free will' crap - if there were truly free will, there would be no hell. Right?

Read the bible. God is a freaking jerk.

He punished the Israelites when they DIDN'T kill every single person of every single group previously living in Palestine.

I love being an agnostic.

If we are trying to prove the existence of God, we need to separate emotions from reason. Obviously, child molestation, child porn, war, murder, and so many other evil things are unbelievably painful and hard to accept emotionally; but whether these things are allowed to happen or do not happen do not prove anything about God's existence. (Imagine presenting a business plan to your superiors based on how good you felt about it without providing any supporting evidence or logic. You will be lucky if you don’t get fired, and don’t you go blaming God for such follies.) It is irrational to state that God does not exist because bad things are allowed to happen. God is real not because He provides endless good things to us or does not allow bad things to happen (we would be subjecting God to our limitations), but God is real because His existence can be proven. Very briefly, reason dictates that any occurrence is preceded by cause. Next we ask, where did all this matter and energy in the universe come from if based on our scientific calculations matter and energy cannot be created nor destroyed (E=mc2 Einstein’s formula, and yes he did believe in God). We cannot say that the energy was just there, because such a statement would violate the cause and effect principle. Energy must have been provided by some Super Being otherwise the Bing Bang would never have occurred, therefore there does exist God the Creator. Life is not without joy and happiness, nor is it without pain and hardship. We cannot just blame the bad things on God, and forget all the good that God has given us. Are we going to take the credit for all the good, and blame God for all the bad? Besides have we ever thanked God for what we have, all the happy moments, and the successes we have achieved? Muslims thank God each time they pray, and that is five times night and day.

God doesn't interfere b/c he know best. He gave us free will b/c there is a hell. There's bad things and good things in the world b/c of both God and Lucifer. God gave Lucifer free reign to work his doing in the earthly world trying to pry the weak from God. God gives us free will to choose if we wanted to believe in him or not. If he didn't then everyone would automatically believe in God and there'd be no reason for us to stay on earth.

There's a hell b/c we have free will. we can choose to accept Jesus as our lord and savior and be able to go into heaven. Or not and don't. And if you can't get into heaven there's only one other option. Things happen for a reason. Maybe you look at everything and it hardens your heart and that seals your fate right there. Others look at the bad things going on and think "I'm so glad this is only a temporary home for me and that one day I'll be in the presence of God himself oh how amazing!"

Or God is using those sheep to bring more believers to him who help them. No one can know what God trully means when he's doing something. He's so powerful and great that the Bible is just a vague introduction into the being we'll be spending all eternity with as believers. His knowledge and power can't be described.

Man's selfish nature manifestd all the things that you mentioned in your post.

Every man is a sinner, right out of our mother's womb we are self-serving, selfish sinners without hope of ever being perfect.

We can try to do good, give to the poor and carry or own burdens but the only answer is Jesus.

Jesus and God's grace is the only answer and will free mankind from the sin and death.

Jesus is the answer.

Who truly knows what the big guy is thinking eh? Where is god? He's in my heart. Some days I understand what he's all about, other days he confuses the hell out of me. You have listed all the bad things in the world that apparently god is to blame for, but what about all the good? The world isnt perfect. Maybe one day we'll all get it right.

If I live to be a thousand I will never understand why God gets all the blame for mans bad behavior and never the praise for the good of mans behavior. Seems alittle unbalanced don't you think? If you are going to give the blame you have to give the praise. Since we know people do good things even if they don't believe in God then they must do bad things also. So its not God is it?

On one level...yes he does approve of things that are wrong and evil and horrible. But your implied claim, that God is therefore unloving, does not follow. I am deducing that your real problem here is that all these bad things mean God is not really good, but bad, correct me if I am wrong.

According to the Christian Bible, God is the loving ruler of the world. He created the world and mankind to rule the world under him. But we rejected his rule and tried to rule things on our own, apart from him. The problem is that we failed at ruling our world or ourselves. One look at the world today should be enough to convince anyone with half a mind that we are not capable of ruling ourselves. War, rape, murder, etc, etc. As you said, the list is endless. But who is to say God would be evil for letting us experience the consequences of rejecting him? If he made us to rule a perfect world under his loving guidance, and we rejected him, who are we to then shake our fists at him for the kind of world we now have? We got what we asked for...a world where God does not rule.

Of course there is a sense in which he still rules completely, inspite of the horrors we commit, when in history, he acted to bring the horror to an end. He did that by entering into that horror himself, and lived as we should have lived when we rejected him. That Man was brutally tortured and executed by our own hands, according to the plan of His Father, in order that a way might be made for people who trust him to live the rest of their earthly life learning why loving and embracing him is the greatest romance of all time. Of course the horror was not immediately stopped. To the extent that we STILL do not want him is the extent we still face a horrible world. An undisclosed amount of time has been given for people to once again relish the goodness of God by placing their complete confidence in the Man he sent to take the brunt of our evil.

So where is God? He is there. Sovereingly permiting OUR evil to continue for a time and then it will all end. So when you go to bed tonight ask yourself if you are 100% certain you know who you are. Are you one of the those who are still rejecting God? Then this is the world you have made for yourself.

God gave us free will. This is what makes us masters of the world. But with this will power we have responsibility. If we breach the trust that God has placed in us, then we are held accountable. This starts from our ways of worshipping, to our moral system and extends to our daily actions toward others.

I was raped by my stepfather and if not for the strength of the Lord I would not be here, My mother is dieing from Aids and if not for the strength and comfort I found in his word I would not have made it through that, my brother-in-law raped my daughter in my house if not for the strength I have in him I would have killed him instead of forgiving him, I would not have the strength to admit that here on this site if God wasn't here with me, if not for God and my faith in him when my husband and I both lost our jobs as many others did after 9/11 and we were evicted and lost everything we would not have had the strength to stand, and first and far most if not for the God that I love and serve when two different doctors told me I would never have a child I would have given up and lost my faith and I would not have the 2 children that he blessed me with..... I don't blame God for the things that went wrong in my life BUT I THANK HIM, GLORIFY HIM, PRAISE HIM, STAND BECAUSE OF HIM, AND LOVE HIM FOR ALL THE MANY WAYS HE BROUGHT ME OUT OF THOSE SITUATIONS WITHOUT A BLIMISH OR SCAR!!! I did not sale my body to get my bills paid because I waited on the Lord, I did not curse his name when my mother got sick because the choices she made and the enemy she chose to serve at that time put her in that death bed and God is the reason why she has not taken HIV medication but ten years later she is still here!!! So you can find fault in him if you chose but I know him have faith in him and serve him I know through it all he has never left my side but if I only believe he will bring me out on top of every situation! So may be if everyone would stop practicing hate, doubting him, not believing in him, and forsaking him put these keyboards down and lift his name up and pray for the afflictions you are speaking of may be just may be if it is his will he will stop those things but, I guess most of you will never know if he will because you are too bust searching for ways to disprove him.... Amen, Thank you Jesus and goodnight I am going to go pray!!!!

Answer:

All these sick things you have just mentioned are designed to bring people to God.

I don't like this as well as others, but it seems to be true. Most humans only consider God after they have been broken down and have no power.

I'm not happy about it either in case you were wondering.

God doesn't approve of those things. He didn't introduce any of those things into the world--we humans did that by failing to stick with Him. Wanna change it? Get on God's side.
